Solomon's Private File #430
1950's. Stephen wrote about his life in letters to a penpal, and then
in a secure blog, in case he lost his memory again, in the master
computer in his school for gifted students, which he started attending
in 2016 in a new incarnation, until his death. Now his son Solomon is
attending the same school, and is writing in his own secure blog for
his future incarnations.
All characters are fictitious, even if some of them might have names
that belong to some actual people, or act like people we know.
Solomon is 35 in this story, in the Spring of 2061.

dimension, "You've seen my action where I killed myself?" They grinned
and said they did. Kora said, "We're not going to do those kinds of
actions!" I said, "It doesn't always end that way. Last one worked
well. No deaths." She said, "Good." I said, "So, which planet should
your school be on?" They all agreed it should be on the first colonized
planet, being the most advanced. On an island, too. I made it, and
said, "So, ready to go there?" Big grins, and I ported them to it. They
looked all around in awe. They said at the pool, "Getting our students
into that isn't going to be easy." I said, "Sure it will. Throw them
in." Grins.
I said, "Not many Monks that were alive when I took you, are alive
now. But a few are. Which one of you will come with me to represent you
as a group?" They pointed at Kora. I said to her, "Why am I not
surprised?" She growled, and they chuckled. We ported to outside of a
Monastery. Some inside noticed our life signs with some surprise. One
came out, and said, "Solomon, and?" I said, "Kora." He said, "And Kora,
please enter and be welcome!" We went inside. I greeted all the Monks I
saw, by name. They were surprised by that. Kora had trouble not
grinning.
In the Abbot's office, the Abbot who wasn't the Abbot I had met
before, rose to great us. I said, "I apologize for not looking older
than when you saw me when you were a student. Different time rates." He
said, "I'm trying to understand that." Smiles. I said, "Our students
have graduated, and are now ready to teach. They will have two kinds of
students at this time. They will be children who qualify, that they
select. The other kind of students will be, well, you, if you desire
it." He grinned, and said, "We still have your crystal. Will there be
more?" I said, "Much more, but in a teaching setting. Memorization
isn't real learning. In these situations, we don't usually do this so
early in school establishment, but there are a lot of teachers
available all at once, which is unusual. So many abandoned children we
could take the first time!" He nodded in sadness.
I said, "We may need your help in convincing some not abandoned
children to attend. We will be meeting with other Monasteries, and then
the government. We will have the leader schedule the world healing
broadcasts. That will also make it easier for parents to believe us."
He grinned, and said, "Yes it would! May I accompany you on this
visiting journey?" I said, "I wondered how fast it would take for you
to ask for that." Big grins. We hugged. He said, "Your student in
reality!" I said, "And the leader of the school." He said, "Some men
don't respect women as much as men." I said, "That's going to change!"
Kora laughed, and said, "Absolutely!" I said, "Any way they want to
test her, the least that will happen is their regret for that." She
said, "Then they may discover our ability to heal." Abbot said, "This
is going to be VERY interesting!" I said, "Of course. We don't do
boring." More grins.
Our visits to the other monasteries went well. Then we had an
appointment with the Chief of the Clan that had the current contract to
run the government. My aura was showing as we walked in. He stared at
me. Kora grinned. Abbot said, "May I introduce Solomon, Senior Agent of
all that is Holy, and Kora, the Chief of their school for all our
species." He said, "That title is confusing, Abbot. I thought there are
none higher than you in status in what is holy." Abbot said, "That was
what we thought, until he came to us. He knows vastly more than we do,
about everything, and is the most powerful being we have met. We have
learned some things from him, and will be learning much more from
Kora's school. You know he is more holy. You can see his aura. Only the
most powerful of auras are visible to all.' He said, "Thank you for
that explanation."
I smiled, and said, "But you are withholding belief. That's perfectly
understandable, for such an unusual thing. We're going to add to that.
We are here for two reasons. We ask for official government assistance
in our selecting of new students. We can identify those who are
qualified, but convincing them to become our students is another
matter. The other thing I ask for, is that our world healing broadcasts
be scheduled, so as to not interrupt people's lives. It's a little
distracting when it happens." He said, "I don't understand. Healing?" I
said, "Yes. One of our people will link all minds on the planet, so God
may enter the link and heal everybody. That includes replacing lost
organs and limbs." He said, "I don't believe you." I said, "That's
good."
Kora tried hard not to laugh. I said, "Why should you believe
something so unusual without proof?" He said, "Abbot, have you seen
this proof?" Abbot grinned, and said, "I have. So have many Monasteries
on many of our worlds. If you know of one or more people near to us
here who need healing, you can see the proof of this yourself. I know
you want to." Grins. I said, "With who you have in mind, you will see
more. Removes scars, and replaces fur." He said, "You read my mind?" I
said, "I can, but I didn't." Kora said, "He knows all." He stared at
her. I said to her, "I didn't need that embarrassment from you. God
does it much more than enough!" She laughed. I said to the Chief, "You
will probably know more about that, after the healing. Call your
people?" He did, and they came into the office.
I said to them, "All of you have conditions that required medical
attention, but they haven't healed so you would never know it was
there. I offer to enable almost instant complete healing. There is no
discomfort, unless you really dislike surprises." Kora laughed. She
said, "I'll never get used to the way you talk." I said, "Good. Keeps
your attention." Smiles and nods. They agreed to be healed. I said,
"Best to get comfortable. Replacing a leg could get a little awkward
while you're using it. I'm not going to be doing the healing myself,
even though I can. God will enter the link and do it, as he will be
doing it in the world broadcasts, and hopefully not embarrassing me in
them. Ready?" They were, and I made the link, and God did the usual,
including my intro, and left. I stopped the local broadcast, and said
to Kora, "I'm not at all sorry you're disappointed. He didn't embarrass
me too much this time!" Then we all felt His feeling of humor. I said,
"He thinks it funny." There were in awe. I ported a paper to my hand,
and I put it on his desk, and said, "Here's what's done in the
broadcast. Four times a year, is optimum. Agree to this?" He gulped,
and said, "I do. My sore knee is now renamed!" Kora said to him, "You
talk like Sol! What did he do to you?" Laughter.
He sent the others away. I said, "If we could have a document from
you requesting that our selected students go to our school, that would
be helpful." He said, "Where is it?" I said, "Our teachers and students
will remain unknown to the public. Their school cannot be found. Our
teachers can teleport, so transportation isn't a problem." He said, "I
must see the school." I said, "If you require that before assisting us
with the new students, we will have no students from your world. Other
worlds, we probably will. I will announce that in the first world
broadcast, unless you refuse to have them. Then I will tell them that,
too." He had started grinning, and then he laughed.
I said to Kora, and the mystified Abbot, "Now he respects me." Kora
said, "Oh! It was a test!" I said, "As I cooperated in it, yes. Still,
true, though. I am unable to lie." Chief nodded, and said, "I assumed
that. I will schedule it, but most won't believe it." I said, "That's
why I'll be doing it the first time. I'm better able to prevent
distracted accidents." He said, "When will it be the most convenient
time for you?" I said, "That doesn't apply to me. Do it as you wish.
While I can be anywhere I wish to be, instantly, I don't need to be on
the planet, or even near it, to do the broadcast." I said to Kora,
"Same for you, too." She said, "Oh! I see. Remote viewpoint. Very
convenient. We can do it anywhere in the galaxy from our own bedrooms."
I said, "Does it have to always be a bedroom with you? Can't you think
of anything else?" She grinned, and said, "Sometimes." We hugged.
I said to the Chief, "Yes, we're holy. We work directly for God. But
we're not Monks. I think you knew that after your test." He grinned,
and said, "Yes I did." I said, "No, we don't rule. Our loyalty is to
God, and His plan. We support intelligent life. We don't allow
interstellar war. We watch each other to make sure we always act with
honor." He nodded, and said, "Do you know of the incident with the
other species and the spaceship repair?" I nodded to the Abbot, who
said, "Solomon gave us the reports of the crew and the alien." I said,
"We have many unusual abilities. We can talk mind to mind, and we can
learn a language in seconds. We could be very helpful in first contact
situations." He said, "I see that. How can I contact you?" I said, "You
can't. But if you ask out loud, I will know." He said, "You'll be
watching?" I said, "I know all. I don't have to watch anything. It's
all in my mind."
He said, "How far does this all extend?" I said, "Remember what God
said about me? It's that kind of all." Kora said, "All dimensions?" I
said, "Yes." She said, "Wow!" I said, "That's built in." She grinned,
and poked me. I said to him, "We offer our standard Head of State
protection. Assassination prevention. Doesn't violate privacy." He
said, "That's rare here, but I accept! You will do that?" I said,
"Those at the school will. They live here, and are of your people, I'm
use any kind of form I wish. How could I be as God needs, if I couldn't
exist on all planets that have intelligent life? Many don't have the
same environment as your planets do. Oh, and I am very not limited to
one body at a time. No, I'm the only one." He said, "If I wanted to not
speak, your knowing all would be convenient." I said, "If we wanted to
confuse everybody else." He laughed.
He said, "Would you tell us where other intelligent species are?" I
said, "No. That would be interference. And to be fair, I would have to
tell them where you are, at the same time." He looked at Kora. She
grinned. He said, "Loyal." I said, "That's not it. I don't rule them.
We work for the same superior. We know what He wants of us, and we know
why. After I do all the first broadcasts for your worlds, I will
withdraw. Yes, I might return for something unusual, but probably just
to greet my friends here. Knowing all, my awareness can't actually
leave a place I've been to. Yes, I have a fat mind." Grins. I said,
"They will add a word trigger to their protection settings. Say my
name, and they will know. Say it without a real need, well, you might
not want to discover what will happen." He said with a grin, "I'm
tempted to test that. I said, "Not after the first time." He laughed.
Kora said, "I'm creating some ideas." I said to her, "Oh, that's bad. I
like it." The Abbot laughed the loudest.
Chief said, "Can your people fight?" I said, "We train the whole
person to the limit of their potential, and beyond that, as unknown to
science. That includes fighting skills. Even without special abilities,
our people are the best fighters, but we will not kill." He nodded, and
said, "Do you teach a special style?" Kora grinned, and said, "You
could call it that. We call it all. Yes, all styles. When our bodies
and minds are trained to be capable of that, we can learn a new style
in seconds, by direct mind transfer. I know of your next question. Who
wouldn't ask if we would teach these arts to some people? We will, but
only to those who are advanced enough so they are not able to learn
more from available teachers, because we can SEE Ki, and so can teach
it's use better. After we grow a little more." Grins.
He said, "Who is the leader of the school?" I said, "The leader is
who is most intelligent, most wise, and most powerful. All can see
those qualities, so there is no politics involved. At this time, it's
Kora. If a new graduate is better, that one will become the leader. We
are logical thinkers. Who would follow the second best thinker, when
the best is available?" He said, "Oh, I see. Interesting." I said, "You
don't. We don't actually have leaders as you understand it. We all do
what we do best, knowing what the others are doing, in coordination. We
only need a real leader in an action emergency, where speed of accurate
thinking is essential. I think it's time we left. More planets to work.
When the schedule is established, and the documents are ready for the
Stephen School, you'll see one of us again. Be aware that we can use
any appearance. For them it will be using special powers." He said,
"How will I know if they are really from your school?" I grinned, "Oh,
you'll know." Chuckles. I said, "Of actions outside of the school, what
one knows, all will know, with direct transfer. And there's how we
might arrive. We teleport." He said, "Oh! Well, that will do it." I
said, "And there is one more identifier that we never complain about
using." Kora offered to hug him. He accepted. She helped him to sit.
When he could, he said, "No better proof than that. You're REALLY
holy!" I said to the Abbot, "Transport after the bow." Which we did,
and were back at his Monastery.
It was much the same on other worlds. I did the first broadcasts,
with God's usual intro. Then we did recruiting. Those in the orphanages
were not a problem. But those with families were very reluctant to give
their children to us, even though we have local Monks with us to verify
things. I said, "If you don't want your child to attend, and learn
things that will make him more knowledgable and powerful than any other
in the galaxy but those of our schools, that surely won't hurt US. Or
the other clans and worlds who are sending us students." That convinced
them every time. Most wanted to see the school. I only showed them
images, and they were very impressed. More, when I had their kids try
projection there, as proof that they qualified, to really surprised
parents. Then the the hugs sealed the deal.
Things were going well, when a student had trouble with his parents
when on a home visit. They required that he tell them all that
happened, and to demonstrate his powers. He said he couldn't do it. It
wasn't allowed. They beat him. I showed that to the planetary Chief. He
had them arrested. The parents and the boy were brought to his office.
I was there, and so was Rako, who had helped me to recruit the boy. I
said to the parents, "Why did you beat your son?" Father said, "We
didn't do that!" I said to the Chief, "He is of your planet, AND your
clan. Is that a true representative of your honor?" He said, "It is
NOT, Solomon!" Parents were surprised, and then afraid, at hearing my
name. I said to the Chief, "You told them who I am on purpose, didn't
you." He grinned, and said, "I did. The temptation, well, I couldn't
resist." I said, "I understand. Try to resist in the future? I usually
plan how this goes." He said, "Yes. Thank you."
I said to the father, "Truth only, or that's all you will be able to
speak, after your next lie. Answer my question. If I compel you, you
will regret it." Rako said, "Please don't make him to that!" Father
said, in a lot of fear, "He disobeyed me." I said, "I see. Do you
believe that is a valid justification for that beating?" He said, "I
do." I said, You signed a contract that had the force of your clan and
Chief of the World, in it. You disobeyed it, where it ordered no
interference in the school, or the student in school matters. By your
own justification, you should then be beaten by one more powerful than
you, as you were to your son. Is that correct?" He said, "No! No it's
not!" I said to the Chief, "A coward, too." He said, "I'm ashamed of
him. We are NOT like THAT!"
I said to the parents, "It states in the contract that the child will
be expelled if the rules are violated. Why did you want that to
happen?" He said, "I didn't!" I said, "But you caused it, so you had to
want it. Or are you mentally deficient?" He said, "I am not!" I said,
"You caused something you knew would happen, that you say you didn't
want to happen. If you had seen this happen in another family, would
you consider that the action of a sane and intelligent person?" He
looked very strange. I said to Rako, "That expression is worthy of
recording." He said, "I have to agree! What shall we call it? A stupid
person trying to realize that he's stupid, and is too stupid to succeed
in that?" I said, "That comes close. Well, closer than anybody would
want to be to him."
The father jumped on Rako, who dodged him out of his chair. I said to
the Chief, "There's room. Let it play out." Chief grinned, and said,
"Granted." The man was a good fighter, but Rako wouldn't let him be,
tying him up in locks and throws. And occasional slaps to the face.
Then the slaps became harder, and then kicks to the legs. Eventually,
the man fell to the floor, and refused to get up. Rako sat with us, and
said, "Beating accomplished, at his too stupid to know it request."
I said to the parents, "Do you know why it's grounds for expelling,
when the parents interfere with the student? I see you think wrongly.
It's not revenge. Our teaching methods are very scientific and precise.
They require the mind of the student to be without negative feelings
and thoughts, or they just won't work. It's not our choice with that.
It's just how it has to be. Don't tell me you would have done things
differently if you had known. You wouldn't have believed it, and you
wouldn't think we would know." Mother said, "He will be expelled?" I
said, "Possibly worse than that. He's learned too much of what he can
do, but not enough to control. Were he to be expelled, for the safety
of others, he would have to have his special abilities removed." Chief
said, "Could you remove his memories of this?" I said, "I could, but I
will not. That's forbidden. He will be tested. Then we'll know. There
is a loyalty conflict here. For him, there is the parent, the clan, the
world, and the school, and himself. You are the leader of this world
and his Clan. What is your ruling on this, and will that make any
difference?"
The boy said, "Please, may I speak?" I said, "You've already started,
so please continue." He had to grin, and said, "My parents are unable
to understand who I am. That's always been a problem for me. My mother
loves me, but is also afraid of me. So is my father, but he's unwilling
to admit that even to himself. I can't be like them, even if I try. I
love them, but I can't be a real son to them, and positively not live
with them. Solomon, you don't need to examine me, to know all of this,
and more." I said, "Did I ask you to be intelligent right now?" He
laughed, and we hugged. Chief said, "I rule that the custody of this
child shall be transferred to the School. They obviously know what
they're doing, and well!" I looked at the boy, and he nodded. I said,
"My diagnosis is that there are some minor faults in the mind that can
be repaired. Prescription, a lot of hugs with love." Grins. Chief said,
"I know how effective your hugs are!"
I said to the boy, "They're still your parents, and aways will be.
They should be honored for that. They gave you life. Please visit them
periodically, but carefully." He said, "I will." I said to the parents,
"If you make any of this public, you will harm your son. Will you
accept binding words that will prevent that? Be aware that much worse
could have been done to you, and still can be." She said, "I accept."
Father said, sullenly, "I accept." I said, "Done. You can't communicate
but to a member of the school, me, or the Chief, anything about the
school, or your son's special abilities, or anything else that could
harm or disturb the school or your son. One more thing. You were wrong,
but I forgive you. Come to me for my love." The mother did, and after
my hug, I helped her to sit. Rako looked mean at the father, who got up
off of the floor, and we hugged, and he was very surprised, when I
helped him to sit.
I said to the Chief, "Need them here?" He said, "No, they can go."
Father said, "But our car is at home." I said, "Stand, and I'll
transport you." They did, and were gone. I said to Rako, "Your mean
look almost made me laugh!" He laughed. I said, "No, ME!" They laughed.
Chief said, "Does something like this happen often?" I said, "On
average, of students who have a home and parents, about one in 17.
Happens more in high tech societies. But murder of prospective students
happens more in low tech." He said, "MURDER?" I said, "Yes. Fear of the
unknown. Superstition. Exists in all societies, but not as obvious in
the advanced. Here's one, what we call a rescue action." I showed them
the feathertop child on the Monastery table action.
Then they all looked at me strangely. Rako said, "I knew you were
wise, but that!" Chief said, "Eat the boy! Wow! You caused all that
just with words!" I said, "My favorite toys." Grins. Chief said, "You
looked very different." I said, "Not really. Two arms, two legs,
walking upright. Compared to others, you're almost identical. Here's a
good species." I showed them the Centipedes. I said, "None of them are
in this dimension. Hmm, don't you have actual work to do?" He had to
laugh. He said, "Yes I do. Thank you for all you do for us." We hugged,
and I helped him to sit. I said to the kids. "Of you go." Rako said,
"You're not coming back with us?" I said, "It's your school now. I
shouldn't be disturbing it more than necessary. There'll be other
times, and you always have my love. You know that." We hugged, and they
ported out, and I shifted out.
