I often think fondly of those lads I knew in my youth. Of them all, I
often think of poor Manuel ... I met him so very long ago. He was ten
years old, a dark boy with dark eyes and a head of hair like bushy
dark wool. He had a smile, with a tooth slightly out of align, that
would draw a smile in return from anyone no matter how sad or upset.
He was all boy, but was in his sense of humour, responsibility and
self-reliance more mature than most adults. He thought alot of me. I
do so miss him, and for that reason, dedicate this song to him, on
this anniversary.
You see, he was killed in an automobile accident ... twenty years ago
today.
