Why, it certainly is an inate attraction!
In a similar sense as boy attraction to dirt, snails and puppydog
tails.
Grownups, who are so much more responsible and commonsensical, would
state it is a practice to improve and firm the skin at expensive
health spas. Boys would claim it is merely sheer fun and not nearly
as costly as all that.
As far as I know, Grownups have not found a commonsensical use for
either snails or puppydog tails yet, insomuch as merely having "fun"
doesn't serve them as correct rationale. They are far too busy making
sure the world spins correctly.
There has been some talk regarding leeches, however.
