Yes, it was still religious repression in those days.
I had no repercussions from that when I went to live there last year.
When I was ejected for cohorting with dissidents in 1985, little did I think
I would ever get back in to Russia, much less go back there Finance Director
of a national TV channel in 2001-2002.
Little did I think that I'd be shaking hands with Gorbachov at the concert
for the second anniversary of the death of his wife that my company paid
for, when I was ejected. Glasnost at that point had started to take effect
in Moscow, but not in the sticks where I was...
What can I say? God answers prayer.

His name certainly rings bells. If I'm not mistaken he was a key person in
