What would you say, out of interest, about the fact that Islamic believers
can have their mosques and services freely in the west, and there is no
western, so-called 'Christian' country in which they may not proselytise
freely, whereas when Christians try to enjoy the same freedoms in countries
where they are in the majority we get persecuted?
Add this to the fact that their populations are growing faster than ours and
also they seem to be doing a jolly good job with their aggresssive
proselytising, and if you do the math you will see that unless something
changes things are going to look very bleak for our religious successors,
which hopefully will include our descendents, in a few hundred years time.
You seem to think that it's about oil. Yes in a way it is, we need first to
look at where Islamic aggression gets its money from, but if it were about
oil and not islamic aggression, why is everyone so compliant about not
drilling Antarctica? Theoretically, if we needed that, we could get rid of
that pact with much less expense and bloodshed. That is why I do not believe
in the simplistic explanation that the UK and America, both of which have
plenty of oil of their own, are really only after the oil. We have to
account for the use of the oil with reference to the world price anyway.
Also, Putin has more potential say on oil price that the Arabs do, as the
Siberian resource is far larger than the Arabian one. If oil were such a big
issue Putin would not be dismantling the settlements in the Taiga and
telling people that unless they left and got back to Moscow they wouldn't
have any more subsidised services in the remote regions.
Another reason why oil is not as big an issue as you make out outside the
fact of islamic fundamentalist wealth creation is that both the US and the
Eu are capable of keeping all cars on the road, with no reduction in our
feeding of ourselves, out of Biodiesel, which is produced from rapeseed oil.
It is considerably cheaper than fossil fuels but is not popular with
governments because it rocks the boat of petroleum revenue tax. Once they
have learned how to tax the biodiesel, we will need less than a quarter of
the oil we consume today, and a lot of the agricultural subsidies issues in
the EU will also be sorted out.
I do not think that George W. Bush is a small minded man, trying to put the
countries resources into a personal fued against Saddam. I do believe that
Bush is a man of common sense, and who sees the future and where the major
risks are coming from. Yes, there are regimes around the world that are not
any better than Saddam's that we haven't attacked yet, but we needed to make
a start somewhere. And I wish the American president at the time of the
first and second world wars had been a bit more like George W Bush or like
Ronald Reagan.
It's not politically correct to say we are attacking Islamic power, neither
is it wise to 'fess up to it at this stage, but that is what we are doing,
and we are doing it very much in self defence, before it's too late to do
it.
America is not my country, but bearing in mind that the US President is the
single most influential politician in the world owing to the primacy of your
economy, I would far rather see this kind of president than one of those
Caspar Milktoasts you Americans talk about.
This is why I named my son, who was born in May, George W. I consider your
president a hero of the world and he should be presented with the next Nobel
peace prize.
