I remember it from 'Roots'. I can't claim to have much knowledge about black
people's affairs. Here in Poland I can go for weeks without even seeing a
black man on the streets, but I know that in America many of your countrymen
see themselves as black people, even people who over here would pass as
white people, like Colin Powell and Tina Turner, both of whom have an East
European appearance more than anything, and that the white settlers
enslaved their ancestors some generations ago, as well as taking control of
resources from the original inhabitants in an undemocratic way, a fact which
appears naturally to have some impact today on certain tensions in your
society which we obviously don't have.
Although Poland, nestled snugly between Hitler and Stalin, has plenty of
other tensions.
