par2 is a parity archive file.
parity archives are used to rebuild incomplete or corrupt files...
you need a program like QuickPar to use par2 files.

Par2 is VERY useful so you don't have to beg for reposts and the poster
doens't have to repost large files...
saves both the poster *and* the leecher bandwidth, time, and aggravation...
