Robin's post was well done. There is one thing I would add, regarding
movie compatibility.
Some of the posted movies need codecs (decoding plugins) that Quicktime
doesn't come with, to play.
For mpeg2 files, you will need that codec from Apple, but they charge
for it. However, someone may post it for you if you ask for it.
You will also need the DivX codec, which you can download from
www.divix.com
A pro version was recently posted in the Mac software groups.
Also check out VLC Player on www.versiontracker.com
No matter how many codecs Quicktime has installed, VLC will sometimes
play movies that QT won't, or plays poorly.
