On my visits to England and Germany, I had the opportunity to visist
many and did. You look at them and think how hugh they are. But when
you go thru a lot of passages they are actually quite small. Being
over 6 feet tall, I had to bend over to make it through many a
doorway. And passageways could be quite narrow. Definitely many places
where you could not walk two abreast. Other thing is they are quite
drafty and cold.
