For those who know nothing of this here is a quick resume.
A princess was born in a castle on a far-off island. The King and Queen
decided to call her Aurora, and they invited 6 fairies to bless her.
However a 7th fairy, horrible and ugly old thing called CARABOSSE gate-
crashed the baptism and cursed the baby princess, predicting that on her
`16th birthday she would prick her finger on a spindle and die.
The other fairies were deeply shocked and one of them, the kindly Lilac
Fairy, stepped forward with her wand and changed the spell. Yes, she
said, the Princess would prick her finger but she would not die. She
would go to sleep for a hundred years, and when the time was up a
handsome prince would wake her with a kiss and break the spell.
This is exactly what happened. On her 16th birthday at a grand party in
the castle, Princess Aurora pricked her finger on a spindle and fell into
a deep sleep.
Exactly 100 years later a handsome prince was out hunting when he had a
vision of the hidden castle and the sleeping princess.
Cutting his way through the trees and brambles with his sword, he found
the castle all overgrown with cobwebs. Upstairs on a vast bed, he found
Pricess Aurora sound asleep.
He kissed her gently and slowly she stirred, opened her eyes and fell in
love. Suddenly the cobwebs vanished along with the creepers and brambles,
and everyone came back to life exactly as they had been 100 years
previously.
The King and Queen were delighted and organised an enormous state
wedding, to which The bad fairy Carabosse was not invited. The Prince and
Princess lived happily ever after.
It comprises 15 tracks with a running time of 69 mins 33 secs.
The story is narrated with interspersed music and is a masterpiece.

I have no idea how many of you have actually seen the Ballet, but words
cannot adequately express the beauty of it.
