It so happens I posted this very video clip in the Fort on 4th July
for the Winged One's Birthday! And of it I wrote elsewhere:-
"I was fortunate to watch the live premiere of this Requiem with these
two singers on BBC all those decades ago & in more peaceful, innocent
(?) times, & remember then how it reduced me to tears. So touchingly
plangent, & so naively (?) expressive of our mostly vanquished hope
that there is still somewhere out there:-
"A Divinity that shapes our ends,
Rough hew them as we will." (Hamlet.)
