OK, ya buncha friggin' fig frottin' whale abusin' barricade bashin'
anti-capitalist war mongering proles! (Whatever a prole is...)
Chill out and put both hands on the desk. NOW!!

There... That's better...
Now... I'm attempting to discern just what the frok is going on here,
and I seem to be missing something. Or maybe I've done something
terribly wrong. Here's what I did, and I'd very much like to know how
it differs from what y'all Yank (or is that yEnc) furriners did:
I followed the Bear's link. (And THANKS, Bear!) It took me to a Google
page with a very prominent "Download" button. I clicked the button.
Opera then went through its usual little ritual of asking whether I
wanted to "open" or "save," and when I chose "save," ascertained that
I indeed wanted to stash it in my usual download directory. That done,
it started downloading.
chased the neighbor's damned rabbit outa the garden, threatened the
damned neighbor with the potential of death via shovel, fired up the
grill, cooked a chicken (wishing it was a rabbit...), ate the chicken
(wishing it was a rabbit), cleaned up, and took a shower, the download
was done, and the performance was saved to disk, in my download
directory on drive d:.
That done, I double-clicked on the file, named
"MozartSonatainBFlatM.avi," and Media Player Classic popped up and
played a gorgeous high-quality video of a remarkable performance of
the Sonata by a really kewt li'l 7 year old dood. A li'l dood who's
obviously been under formal tutelage for quite a while. (Just watch
his fingering; it's classic, and natural; id est, he's been doing it
for *way* more'n a year...) It's a great vid, and a keeper. And thanks
again, Bear!!
Sooooo... back up to the dialogue about the capitalists, the
barricades, the proles, the whales, and the impending carnage, (Not
mentioning the figs...), I'm a teeny bit in the dark. I saved the vid
to disk with a click. I'm watching it with MPClassic. I didn't d/l
anything from Google other than the vid itself. Wha' de fu'?
I'm waaaay curious to find out why the downloading, saving, and
viewing are so simple on this side of the great pond, and so difficult
on your side. The point of this exercise is to figger out how to make
it work for you as easily as it works for me.
More input, please.
