There are those who would say that the next posting is reminiscent of being
party to one of Mephis nights on the tiles on any given saturday evening.
LOL. I can neither confirm or refute this, and can only say to the
listeners that they must make up their own minds as to the legitimacy or
otherwise of this possibility. Imagine if you will, a pub full of old
sailors, on their last night ashore before sailing (well you know what I
mean, ships have engines now!!) to distant ports to protect their
countrymen in lands of great danger. To fly the white ensign in the face of
all adversities that may befall the aforementioned heros. To boldly go
where many have gone before them, only to return bearing great gifts of
stuffed camels, plastic wrist watches, genuine antiques made a week
previously in Taiwan, bottles of vintage wine, still warm when purchased,
to name but a few. Yes, this is the sailors lot, so listen with great
interest and imagine all these hairy assed heros in their true vocation on
their last night before leaving their loved ones, hated ones, CCJs, debt
collectors, mobile telphones, and Terry Wogan.
