I have just about finished downloading, naming & playing.
Sorry for this graceless delay, LOL, but with two blistering sunshiny
days down here I've not been getting back in till late evenings, Got
to make the most of it, haven't we? And I'll be away Saturday &
Sunday, ......sailing with friends, so I'll want a bit more wind than
these last couple of days, the sea's been that calm.
Back to the CD, which I'm enjoying, though I wish she wouldn't give so
many introductory speeches before almost every track, but I suppose
that's the privilege of the famous.
I was glad to hear one of my favourites at the start, "Non, je ne
regrette rien", which I think I've quoted in the groups on more than
one occasion, last night in asp for one....&..when I left the Fort..
LOL
Track 07 (Les Amants d'un Jour" is quite sad & particularly grabs my
attention. It's also partly in English. Now I know the French love to
roll their "r"'s, but in track 10, La Foule, she really goes to town
on it & rolls them like blazes. I lost count of the number, but next
time you listen you'll certainly notice them!
But she sure saves the best till last. The final track, Hymne a
l'Amour,--"If you love me, really love me", what a rousing one to
finish with. Really brings the House down! Love it.
