Just completed downloading & listening, but golly,gosh,
these don't half go back! You must be covered in cobwebs from rooting
around in yer attic for that lot.
Some real archaeological treasures there, mind you. Did you actuallly
take these off one of those Shellac heavy-weight things yourself? Talk
about a world that's vanished. And we used to sit spellbound listening
to these technological advances when we were little & giants walked
the earth.
Could sure hear that worn-out needle during Track 11, The Morning
Promenade, vocalised, if that's the right word, by some audacious bit
of crumpet. LOL Ah, those needle clicks hitting the same scratch marks
every other second. How we loved them! And if the clicking stopped
for, say, 30 seconds, we marked the record down as being "in
reasonable condition". But I'd swear blind you took Track 22,
"Stopped, Looked, Listened", straight off one of them Wax Cylinders
from the very Dawn of Phonograph recording.
Do you know I saw somewhere that vinyl LP's are fetching as much as
$300 each on e-bay........ So Lord knows what these Holy Relics could
raise.
