Hi Nicky,
I've seen a couple of people warn you about Google displaying information
in the headers of your posts...so I'll not go there. I've also seen Doc
advise you to get a newsreader such as Forte Agent or X-News. Before you
begin posting ANYTHING, you should set your newsreader to display full
headers, do a Google search for "reading usenet headers" or "tracing
usenet headers", and then visit http://cmyip.com to find out what your
IP address is.
The two usenet providers that I've seen with the cleanest headers are
Newscene ( http://www.newscene.com ) and Altopia ( http://www.altopia.net
).
That is if you can afford their monthly fees.
Once you learn a little about reading the headers of a post, you should
go to some unrelated newsgroup far away from here and post a couple of
test messages. Be sure to look for your IP address or any other telling
information in the headers of your posts. There are also a few utilities
that you may want to search for and play around with. These are Sam Spade,
NeoTrace, and VisualRoute. If you can't find them, I can post them for
you.
Take care,
The Lookout
