See below for comments about above.
And sideways if you get mixed up. LOL

Doc, your post was better than you usually do, and that's no fun for
me, but there are a few things....
Anyone can post with any newsreader (or version) and any server from
any computer platform if they want to. Some do. Post, that is. LOL
All of that can be faked, too. Denying any post won't work if it's
based on header differences. We have to go by the reliability and
honesty of the poster, and I won't go buy that for a million pesos. LOL
A remailer sends the post to a newsgroups server, then that sever sends
it to any other server it wants to, and so on, until it gets to the
server you read it from. People who look at posts with different
servers can see different things in the paths of posts. Some of it can
be faked but you need to be an expert to figure that out, and I'm not
one. Or two. LOL
Astraweb has servers in 3 countries I know of. You can post directly to
any one you want to from any country with internet connections. I
usually post to the one in Europe because it's faster, but that doesn't
have to mean I live there, or that it shows in my headers. It didn't in
my last post. I just peeked.
Some posts bounce all over the internet/world before they get where
they have to be, and some don't. I don't know why, and I don't suppose
the posts know either. LOL
All I know is I never impersonated anybody. I have enough trouble with
just myself. LOL I never thought of doing it, or I might have, if I
hadn't learned it doesn't do any good unless you can make it obvious
what it is, and make it really funny. That's too much work! I don't
think you did it, either. I suspect, but can't prove it, the poster who
replied to that post, because everybody knows Cultist wouldn't write
that, and so wouldn't believe it. I think he's done it before too. Do
you think he needs more practice? LOL
If you want more technical information about all this, you need to ask
the expurters. I'm just a regular spurter. LOL
