In primitive societies, the males would have developed a sexual
attraction toward children and would therefore be inclined to nurture
and protect them. This would have been necessary during prehistoric
times when many dangers were facing humans, particularly the more
vulnerable children, and mothers would have welcomed the attention
males gave their children for that reason.
Because of this, I believe that all men have both homosexual and
pedophilic tendencies. Society at some level recognizes this and the
current day hysteria against our natural state is due to people not
wanting to face up to these facts. It's a self-reinforcing loop in
that the more society persecutes pedophiles, the more threatened are
those who wish to deny their pedophilic tendencies, and the more
therefore they would want to persecute pedophiles.
Once this is recognized by the social and psychological sciences, I
predict there will be a gradual but steady progress toward acceptance
of pedophilia, just as there is now toward acceptance of homosexuality
and there was in the past toward acceptance of equal rights for
minorities. Hopefully we'll see it in our lifetime.
