You are killing us with your heavy posts of our work! We're starting
to get quite a few emails from members who complain they don't see why
they should pay to remain a member of the site when they can get most
of the pictures for free on Usenet.
Frankly, I don't have an answer for them, besides to say that their
money supports Meet the Models and all the kids and families that
model for us. But not everyone is convinced by such arguments.
One hour of a model's time is worth more than two days of their
parent's work. People here aren't starving, but life is very hard.
Half the kids don't go to school because it is too expensive, and half
of them do things like sell peanuts on the beach after school just to
make an extra 25 cents a day. There's no question that the kids need
the money.
You may have noticed that there are fewer modeling sites on the net
recently, and those that are still around are difficult to pay for.
The reason is that Visa and Mastercard refuse to take payments for
modeling sites, or if they do the restrictions are onerous. Paypal
just bent under public pressure to get rid of sites like ours, and
that leaves only the hard ways to pay left.
Having just been cut off from Paypal, all our current members are
going to have to re-sign up to continue. We expect to lose around
3/4's of our members to this, and since everyone has to use difficult
payment methods, we don't expect to recover entirely.
We THINK we can remain open with only 1/4 to 1/2 our current
membership, but if people decide not to come back because the pictures
are being given away for free, it will be the final blow.
So, please, have mercy and stop posting our material. You are on the
verge of putting us out of business. Don't you think it would be
ironic if you finished the work the unholy alliance of hardcore
conservatives and busybody feminists began? Don't you think it would
be sad to know that you contributed to the end of Meet the Models?
Here's a list of models who get support from members and the business
above and beyond simple modeling pay:
Reed: Full time school, books, books, English lessons, Karate lessons
Ty: 1/2 time school and books
Zach: Full time school and books
Shawna: Full time school and books
Bart: 1/2 school (family's choice) 100 dollars a month support
Sigh: 50 dollars a month
Simon: 50 dollars a month
Dennis: 50 dollars a month
Tag: 25 dollars a month
Diamond: Periodic support, 50 dollars every other month or so
Sky: Periodic support, 50 dollars every other month or so
The following models have all received gifts of 50 dollars or more:
Dragon
Sand
Khan
Muse
Jade
That's 14 families receiving much needed money in a country where the
average monthly wage is about 60 dollars. Those are the names off the
top of my head. If anyone out there reading this has contributed and
doesn't mind speaking up, by all means brag about your sponsorship!
You obviously like our pictures. So please stop posting our stuff!
You're hurting many more people than you think.
