Everything we get from the internet including your posts and mine is
just lines of code. How real is that? We are real to ourselves but not
to other people who see only written words that could have come from
anywhere or anybody.
Because we are supposed to be human beings but for all we really know
it could be just a computer writing and posting these messages or even
all from one poster. We can't know if anything we see on our screens is
real. We have to take it on a strange faith. A lot of us have been
wronged by that kind of faith so some people have to deny everything
rather than be hurt by posters who might be real people.
Here is another way we are fake here. *We* are just words here but they
can't be who we really are because we are real people who can't be
really defined by any amount of words. Computers and the internet can't
contain our bodies or souls.
Words are not reality. A picture is not the thing. Posts are not *us*.
I hope this explains what I was trying to say.
