Perhaps if it were YOUR security that you were putting at risk, you
might understand the concerns of those who continue to post.
While you are correct that the movies do not contain illegal content
-- that does not mean it is legal to rip them and post them.
Furthermore, given the current political climate and the mass hysteria
over child molesters -- these movies would be enough to get a whole
lot of people in hot water. At the least, they could be exposed
publicly and accused of transporting child porn -- and there are
probably some places in the world that would define these as such.
Keep in mind that the world has declared war on Usenet under the
excuse that some 100 groups out of how-many-hundreds of thousands of
groups there actually are were used to distribute kiddie porn.
Keep in mind that the US government has started charging people who
post STORIES on the Internet with distributing obscene materials.
Keep in mind that some ISP's have revoked accounts and turned
information into LEA over stuff that was not illegal.
Given all these facts, can you not understand why some people prefer
that things be handled quietly and discreetly?
Oh, and if that's not enough for you -- if you can't abide by the
posters' requests -- they go away. No more posts of any kind.
There's no rule that says you can't help people find the groups -- you
just don't broadcast them all over hell and back.
