The original picture caught my attention because Vincent "Sniv" Van
Mason is drawn differently there than in the other illustrations in
the story -- thinner, taller, and with a narrower, more triangular
face: that is, as he will probably appear at age 11 or so, rather
than as he does at his present age, 9 give-or-take.
The rather elvish appearance (and expression) quite suits him, as
the stories in which he appears show him as bright, inquisitive,
resourceful, and self-reliant: see, for example, the comic 'Keith
Come Home' on the Niklas Web site (google "niklas and friends" to
find the site, click on [OK] to enter it, and then click on the
first [Next] hand to go to the comics index page).
A second puzzle taken from the story 'Bunkbeds' is posted separately;
it shows Sniv drawn at his present age, with his older brother, Jason.
