Solomon's Private File #274
These stories about Stephen and Solomon take place starting in
1950's. Stephen wrote about his life in letters to a penpal, and then
in a secure blog, in case he lost his memory again, in the master
computer in his school for gifted students, which he started attending
in 2016 in a new incarnation, until his death. Now his son Solomon is
attending the same school, and is writing in his own secure blog for
his future incarnations.
All characters are fictitious, even if some of them might have names
that belong to some actual people, or act like people we know.
Solomon is 28 in this story, in the Spring of 2054.
Solomon's Private File #274 "CNN Van Evolution"
START Page
Greg introduced me on the CNN show. I said, "A warning. There is a
little bit of nudity involved in one of the actions, but no sexual
activity. Because what happened is a very important part of the story,
I'm not leaving it out. If you think that viewing the body that God
created, will burn your eyes out, blink a lot." Greg tried not to
smile. I said, "To make the actions make sense, I have to share a
little bit of history, first. I'll be using some real images of those
times. You may have heard of the aliens called the Van. They weren't
originally aliens, but people of Earth who left for another planet
after a disaster, 74,000 years ago. My father, who was Attin then,
warned them it could happen. They ignored her. After a very long time
in suspended animation, which is like a dreamless almost frozen sleep,
they arrived on their new planet. After a lot of work, and a long time,
they populated the planet, but they had lost the records of who they
were, and only had legends, which were not all that accurate."
I said, "Eventually they were able to learn how to build space ships,
and explored their solar system. Then they built a starship, and
visited a neighboring system. There they discovered another kind of
intelligent people who had an advanced technology they couldn't
understand. The Van enslaved them, and made them make their machines on
the world of the Van. One kind of those machines were matter
transmitters. Another was a machine that could grow brand new specially
designed bodies for people to occupy. Another machine could transfer
the mind and soul from an old body into the new one. They had
discovered immortality! And that was the worst thing that ever happened
to them in their entire history. I know many of you would think I must
be crazy to say that. The Van at that time would. You'll see what I
mean, as we go along. I hope. After the break."
Off air, Greg said, "Illustrations are captivating, but your last
line and hook, well, I'm glad you don't want my job." I said, "So am
I." Back on air, I said, "The Van could make new bodies and transfer to
them. They thought the idea was wonderful. So, they designed what they
considered to be the ideal body for them, with the help of their
captured high tech slaves. Here's one. As you see, they didn't need to
wear clothes. They didn't feel hot or cold. They didn't have to
reproduce the old way, so there was no er, equipment for that. They
couldn't have sex. They changed their brains a little, so they could
communicate with each other with their minds in emergencies. And they
did away with some troubling emotions. They thought they were being
very thoughtful and logical. I think some of you are realizing that
they were making some mistakes. Without sexual awareness, and without
some emotions, they had become more like computers in short bodies,
than people. They could feel no love, no hate, no frustration. They
could feel no joy, and no sadness. They didn't need those things, so
they didn't have them, all courtesy of their captured alien tech, that
they didn't know how it worked."
I said, "Some of that tech included large space ships that they could
explore the galaxy with, but unlike most, they didn't have a faster
than light drive. They used suspended animation that their new bodies
were built for, for hundred year long trips, and once they arrived,
they could use the matter transmitter to go back and forth between the
ship and their planet. Their bodies could live for a thousand years.
They explored for twenty thousand years, staying away from other
intelligent people. Then they decided to take over another planet. It
belonged to the Galactic Council, who intervened. The Van were stopped,
and their high tech slaves were freed. More thousands of years passed.
The Van began to notice their created bodies were not as good as they
were in the past, and each new body was worse than the one before. They
couldn't discover why, because they didn't understand the machines that
made them. They knew they were in trouble. They needed new bodies that
they couldn't make, either with the machines, or through sexual
reproduction that they were no longer capable of. So, they invented an
entirely new solution for that problem. Or so they thought. I'll tell
you about that after the break."
Producer said in the air, while the commercials were running, "Come
on, I'm dying to know!" Chuckles. Back on air, I said, "The Van were
needing new bodies. There were a lot of them on the other planets.
Problem with that, was they already had souls in them. The Van didn't
care about that. So they built a lot of secret experimental stations in
inhabited systems, and kidnapped some of the people and experimented on
them. The soul transfer machines wouldn't work correctly on them. The
alien victim, and the Van, both died. They tried another tactic.
Surgical manipulation. I won't show you that, because, being mostly
unfeeling, the Van cared nothing for the feelings of others, and that
included wasting anesthetics on them. Yes, they cut them open while
their victims were alive and screaming. They were unsuccessful, but
they kept trying."
I said, "Then they rediscovered Earth! They thought they were bound
to succeed. They built their stations, and kidnaped people. They
transferred their minds to the victims. A few, at first. Success! At
first. After a few months, the bodies rejected the foreign souls, and
declined and died. If the Van had hair, and could be frustrated, they
would have ripped it off of their heads. But they didn't. Instead, they
decided on a special breading program. They would breed us to be
compatible with what they wanted. They kidnapped a lot of people and
operated on them, and used radiation, and other means to try to change
them. They did this on other planets, too, but did most of it on Earth,
for being most likely to succeed, in their opinion. And they did more
to us. They destroyed civilization after civilization, when they became
too powerful and might discover them. They murdered all the psionic
people they could identify, because they could know what the Van were
doing. They caused many wars, so more people would die and be born, to
make their plans go faster. They influenced religions and societies, to
cause this, with soul substitutions and programed abductees. We have a
list of those, by the way. Van kept very good records."
I said, "They did this for many thousands of years. Despite their
best efforts, they couldn't prevent the industrial revolution. The
Galactic Council had an observation station on Earth then, so the Van
couldn't do as much as they had before, in the open. So mankind
progressed. Soon, some of the Van shuttle ships were shot down and were
captured. Governments were made aware of them. Then my father was born.
If they had discovered him, they would have risked a lot of bad things
to kill him. But they never knew he was a super genius, and became a
powerful Adept. And they still didn't know that, after they captured
him when he was alone in a jungle camp." I showed that. I said, "Mom
hasn't seen this before. That's alright. I can fix that chair. Better
go to break." Off air, Greg said, "Wow! What a hook!"
Back on air, I said, "Dad was in his FIRST modern Stephen incarnation
when he was captured, not the second. Mom kind of forgot that a little.
She's better now." Greg said, "Oh. I'm glad." I said, "For her, thank
you. He woke up from the stun ray on an examination table in their
station on the Moon. He made mental contact with the AI computer that
ran the station, and they took over the station, including disabling
the matter transmitters. All the Van had to go into their emergency
pods. Dad was stuck there, with no way to get back. He couldn't pilot
the ships. He was too big. The matter transmitters were paired gates,
not the fantasy dial-up kind, and none were on Earth. He had to port
back with the information, but there were some force fields that were
interfering with his perceptions. He would be injured or killed. He had
to, so he did it, and had a severe brain injury. He didn't know he had
made one way mental contact with his students, and transferred all the
data. He tried, but didn't know he had succeeded, and even in that,
there was so much, he didn't know if they survived it, so he HAD to
port back to ensure the information didn't die with him. Well, when he
arrived on Earth, he didn't know that. He didn't know anything. It took
months for his brain injury to heal, despite all the help from all his
students, and his memory returned, and with some past lives, too. But
half of his super intelligence, and all of his psionics were gone. He
was fifteen then, and almost killed himself many times. He lived, but
at great personal cost, the most powerful and intelligent being in the
galaxy, to next to nothing in his view. That haunted him the rest of
that life, and through his next, where he became my father, and all his
friends felt that with him, causing some very bad feelings for the Van.
I needed to say all that, to show you why they were all astounded by
what I did. When we come back, I'll show you."
Back from break, I said, "In his second incarnation, Dad moved all
the Van from everywhere in the galaxy, back to their world, and
blockaded it. He had to do that a little faster than originally
scheduled, because the Atlana Confederation was about to discover the
Van, and that would have been the end of the Atlana. They would have
worked as perfect hosts to the Van." Greg said, "Oh! I don't remember
him saying that." I said, "Confed military didn't believe him, and sent
a ship there. Here's the Captain sharing his feelings about that." He
laughed. I said, "So now you know how badly my family and group feels
about the Van. Nine years ago, I went to visit the Van world. Here's
the action. Where there is something purely mental, I'll do a voice
over. Greg, interrupt when you want to, for comments." He laughed at my
comment about the leader being imprisoned, too. I stopped it and said,
"Well, you know my humor. And I also wanted to test their reactions.
You saw how almost robotic it was." He said, "I noticed that.
Definitely not any trace of humanity. Your alien students are people.
That was just a thing." I said, "Actually, I know some computers who
are more human." He said, "That big one that was killing its people.
You made it grow up." I said, "Still doing well, too."
I showed the conversation with the leaders. He said, "I see what you
mean, even more. They WANTED to be like robots, but failed in that,
too." I said, "Well said. Thanks." He said, "But YOU! You kind of tore
them a new one they didn't know how to use." I said, "Eh, you're
getting better at this." He was embarrassed. I said, "Any problems with
the viewers complaining about nudity?" He said, "Actually, some are
imagining that they see things that they want covered up, that actually
aren't there." I said, "Prioritizing brain uses prior associations as
shortcuts. That can cause people to see more of what they expect and
are used to seeing, than what is actually there. Can't convince the
less intelligent that it happens a lot. That, and voluntary and
involuntary memory modification, makes witness testimony unreliable
more than the courts and juries want to believe. What we see is a
product of the brain and mind, and not of the image that impinges on
the retina. It's all in the interpretation and memory." He said, "Thank
you for the explanation." I said, "So, in brief, even though they
weren't wearing any, the Van had NO sexual organs, inside or out. If
you're seeing any, it's your imagination, and nothing else but your
strong desire to look at such things." Greg tried not to laugh. He
said, "Some people are going to feel insulted about that." I said,
"That's what they get for making fools of themselves in public. Keep
your mouth shut, and fingers off the keyboard, and you'll feel a lot
better, and so will the people who have to live with you." He laughed
loudly. I signaled for break.
Back from break, he said, "Some people are expressing their anger
about what you said." I said, "They sure don't take advice well.
They're the ones who want you to do something about their
hallucinations in a show they didn't have to watch. At least their
anger is real, even if nothing else is." Chuckles. I said, "Does God
wear clothes? He doesn't. He's a spirit. If He wanted us to hide our
bodies from people, He would have had us born with clothes on. It's
human nature to want to control other people with shame. BAD human
nature. There is NOTHING shameful about the human body, but your own
thoughts about it. Try growing up a little. There are MUCH more
important things to be concerned about, that you SHOULD be paying
attention to. That actual adults should be paying attention to. And
right now, that is something I'm trying to share with you. I'm sure not
doing this for ME."
I said, "Now, back to the Van. I had offered a God contact. I started
the world love broadcast, and God joined for the healing, but it lasted
longer than it ever had before. 34 minutes. I'll reduce the time in the
recording, and show you what happened." I did, and Greg said, "WOW!" I
said, "Exactly! Here's what I said about it in the world broadcast." He
said another "Wow". Then I played the rest of that action, beeping out
Galya's name. Another wow. I said, "That is the end of that action.
There are more actions in this set, but none with nudity." We went to
break. Greg said, "That wasn't bad, the nudity." I said, "I did get
poked in the hugs." He grinned, and said, "Thanks for not showing that.
Back on air, I said, "When I ported home after that action, most of
my group were there to greet me, and with tears. That's significant,
because of how negative we had felt about the Van. We are incapable of
hate, but if we COULD feel it, the Van would head that list. But I had
helped them. They could never have expected it. I sure didn't. I just
did what I thought I should. I had NO idea that God would do what he
did, or even that he could, using my abilities. But It happened, and I
was responsible. And, it didn't end there. They were incapable of
forming a society. They had lost too much. Changing their bodies and
brains, couldn't fix that." I showed the next action. He said, "I see
what you mean. They didn't even know how to grow food!" I said, "And
other things. They didn't understand themselves, either." I showed the
other actions. I said, "They are now not the Van, but a different
species with a different name, and are able to exist on their own, and
progress as they should."
He said, "You did it so carefully! You gave them only what they
needed to survive biologically and culturally, when they needed it, and
only then." I said, "What they had before, actually, but changed for
their present situation." He said, "But no technology?" I said, "That
was the one thing they hadn't lost much of their own, so I didn't have
to return it to them. You notice I didn't give them any extra tech. It
wouldn't have worked. They had no universities. Not even elementary
schools. Very little manufacturing. It was all automated, built by
their high tech slaves they no longer had. Whatever I could have given
them, they couldn't use! But they would have tried, and so destroyed
themselves." He said, "How would that have happened?" I said, "People
here forget how very dangerous tech and manufacturing is. We have a LOT
of safety regulations, but accidents still happen. Would you give a
gardner an atomic power plant, and expect it to be run safety? A steel
processing plant? Ever seen a bessemer furnace in operation? The Earth
was ruined by poorly understood tech, that made the Van leave. Yes,
it's THAT dangerous!" He said, "Oh! I think we understand this more. Is
antigravity also that dangerous?" I said, "In its own way, yes, and
more so for the power needed to make it work. Energy is always
dangerous if it isn't perfectly controlled. How many houses and
businesses are burned down by electrical and gas accidents?" He said,
"I see what you mean." I said, "Interstellar ships are powered by
fusion. Do that wrong, you add another star to a solar system. Small
and short lived, but just as bright." He said, "Wow!" I said, "So, now
you know. We just do NOT give tech where it can't be understood and
made safe. That's a universal rule in all responsible star
associations. Star Trek didn't invent it, but wisdom did. From horrible
errors from not doing it."
I said, "One more thing about that. It's also why we won't allow
interstellar wars. Remember the fusion powered ships?" He said, "OH!" I
said, "In that kind of war, whole planets can be made uninhabitable
very fast and very cheaply. Fortunately, that doesn't usually happen in
those wars, but it can, very easily, when the losing side is desperate.
We don't mess with politics, but planetary genocide goes way beyond
politics." He said, "I think I understand. All you do is so much more
important than covering up bodies that don't have what people are
looking for." I said, "Practically ANYTHING is more important than
supporting ridiculous delusions that people want to force onto others.
Most of the rest of the world is MUCH more adult about it. More sane."
He said, "Thank you, Solomon, for sharing the remarkable story of the
Van with us." I said, "It was what I should do." We were off air.
President of CNN came into the studio, and said, "A lot of lessons in
that. And useful controversy. Delusions!" Chuckles. He said, "The full
impact of this is going to take a while. Keep our people busy." I said,
"Might not hurt ratings." Grins. I said, "Harp on the main lesson.
Foolish use of tech blew up the Earth, and made the Van leave. They
stole advanced tech, and tried to use it, and it destroyed them
horribly. They would have been all gone, if I hadn't saved them." He
said, "We'll do that. A true cautionary tale!" I said, "Yes! Wag that
tale a lot!" Groans. We did the usual round of hugs.
Mom said, "Surprised me, with showing the capture." I said, "I didn't
know it would affect you so strongly. I'm very sorry!" She said, "It's
alright. Just the surprise. You were in the flow." I said, "No excuse.
I should have thought of that." She said, "Then, next time." I said,
"Sure." Pokes, and hugs and kisses.
