Solomon's Private File #203
These stories about Stephen and Solomon take place starting in
1950's. Stephen wrote about his life in letters to a penpal, and then
in a secure blog, in case he lost his memory again, in the master
computer in his school for gifted students, which he started attending
in 2016 in a new incarnation, until his death. Now his son Solomon is
attending the same school, and is writing in his own secure blog for
his future incarnations.
All characters are fictitious, even if some of them might have names
that belong to some actual people, or act like people we know.
Solomon is 24 in this story, in the Fall of 2050.
Solomon's Private File #203 "UN In Korea"

Ichi said to me, "Korea is ready." I said, "Our action teems meet
first." They came. Mom, Hawk, Ivanna, Grace, and Elise, Seth, and
Daren, were there with us. I said, "We're ready to port all long term
North Korean detainees that are not real felons under South Korean law,
to special housing in South Korea. We've got all the family records and
will match them up where possible. My part of that is completely
removing the North Korean military's small arms, and temporarily
disabling their larger weapon systems. They will have nothing usable
but kitchen knives. Right. Not even rubber dildos." Smiles. Ivanna
said, "UN is ready to land. US Seventh Fleet is near Korea, and is
overloaded with UN troops and equipment. I'll be coordinating that
part." Elise said, "I'll be porting the criminal leadership to the
Hague for trial, with evidence. They've agreed to use time dive
recordings as acceptable evidence, and I'll be doing some
infrastructure repairs." Grace said, "I'll be porting and monitoring
the movement of civilians, for families and safety." Daren said, "I'll
be managing the weaponless military and assist with general logistics
and equipment repairs." Mom said, "I'll be handling some of the
publicity." Hawk said, "I'll be working the legal end." Seth said,
"I'll be dealing with the American government." I said, "We'll all be
watching each other, Ichi coordinating us. I'll do the religions, some
politics, and provide my er, authority when needed. First up before the
fact, is China." Hard grins all around.
By appointment, I shifted to meet with the President of China. I
said, after polite things, "Have you ever wondered why I have done
nothing about North Korea?" He said, "I have, very often, but have not
had the courage to ask. Nor did my predecessors, who have passed that
er, fear along. Am I to understand that something unusual is going to
happen, soon?" I said, "It will. You are the second national leader to
know of this. I see. The first is the government of the soon to be
former South Korea." He said, "Unification." I said, "Something like
that. The North will need a new government while the international
tribunals will be doing their very slow work." He said, "The UN is
involved?" I said, "In process. It's been very slow, but this has been
in process for years." He said, "The North has had a lot of er, loss of
people in recent years." I said, "Rescue family reunification. Porting
is SO useful." He grinned and said, "Well done!" I said, "A little too
soon, but thank you. There is much more. You know why I'm here." He
said, "You don't want us to interfere." I said, "Not exactly. You won't
be allowed to. I'm letting you know in advance, so you won't have to
test that."
He said, with some emotion, "You are saving us from embarrassment!
That you care to do this is, I don't know how to say it. Special to
you?" I said, "It works." He had to smile. I said, "Special housing for
the detainees is in place in the South. They will be transported when
the time is right. All weapons will be gone or blocked from use in the
North. American army there will NOT be involved in any military action.
Just in logistical and communication support of the UN when asked." He
said, "You knew we would prefer that. Thank you!" I said, "More,
actually. America will maintain their bases, but will no longer patrol
the border. UN will do that, as if it were a usual border between
countries, until full unification is established. Most American troops
will leave. If you don't show signs of invasion of your own." He said,
"I assumed that. I must admit it was a tempting idea." I said, "Don't
make Japan very uncomfortable, having to defend Korea." He laughed.
He said, "Would you tell this to our Politburo?" I said, "When can
you get them here?" He said, "So soon?" I just grinned. He said, "I'll
convene an emergency session. Two hours?" I said, "If you don't tell
them the surprise in advance." He said, "An order I will gladly obey."
More smiles. I said, "American officials know only some of this. I'll
tell them more now, and they may be a lot less polite than you about
it." Shared hard grins.
I shifted to State in DC, and said, "Going to be an action. UN has
been holding back on you. You know about them doing things with the
Seventh Fleet?" She said, "I do. A Good Will exercise." I said, "With
my group's help, they're going to pump that up in very short order.
Forced unification of Korea. North will be completely disarmed before
any troops land. Been planning this for years." She said, "Good!
President know?" I said, "Something of it, yes, to authorize the Fleet
action. They've got sealed orders to proceed to the North in full
support of any UN action. Pentagon is all over it. You didn't know, for
security. China HAD to be kept in the dark." She said, "Going to warn
them to lay off?" I said, "Politburo meeting with me in a few minutes.
They won't have time to mess with anything. Short schedule. I'm going
to tell the President the whole story now." She said, "One thing. UN
using our money?" I said, "Not a bit. Remember that financial Cabal
that went down in flames?" She said, "I do." I said, "We caused that,
and mostly by messing with their banking and quality of goods. We
bought their defunct companies and er, repaired them, and sold them. We
had so much money, it was embarrassing. We gave it to the UN. That's
what they're using for this." She said, "Wow!" I said, "That's what
they said." We hugged with love.
I met with the Pres and Vice, and told them all that, and more. He
said, "Good. You've got it all covered, and we're out of it." I said,
"Would have been nice to give you credit, but China would have made
some loud foolish noises over that." He said, "Right.Thank you!" I
said, "I plan to be out of the public eye and nose about this. Rose and
Hawk will be out front, and most of the actions in support of this will
be done by others. I'll show up when my Prophet authority is needed. My
people will prove who they are by porting, or other interesting goofs."
Chuckles. I said, "Not using their true appearance, if they have to act
in public." Nods. We hugged with love.
I said much the same things to the Politburo people, to their various
degrees of surprise. One said, "This is good." They stared at him. I
tried not to smile, and he noticed that, and smiled. He said, "They
were a severe drain on us, and not just in money. Ulcer causing
monster!" Nods. One said, "But we can't say we support it." I said, "I
recognize that. I just ask that you go slowly about this, and don't
even think about crossing the border." Frowns and grins. One that
grinned, said, "And you will ensure that." I said, "Actually, yes. Not
me, though. Only thing I'm doing in this is the disarming and something
like blessing the operation. UN is in charge, and my people will
provide some requested assistance, mostly in porting and reuniting
families." Nods. I offered my hugs, and they all accepted.
I shifted to the meet with the Fleet Admiral. He said, "I've just
been handed new orders. We're invading North Korea!" I said with a
grin, "Something like that. UN is, and you're support. I'll disarm them
before they get antsy." He said, "Completely?" I said, "Yes, all small
arms and nukes gone, and block other weapon systems for handing over to
the South." He said, "Wow!" I said, "Probably not what they'll be
saying." Chuckles. I said, "Any weaponless soldiers make any trouble,
well, they're lucky it's not Winter." He grinned. I said, "I'll just be
doing the weapons. Others of us will be doing the rest, and that's a
lot. This is more of a rescue mission than an invasion, and we've been
working on this for years." He said, "I am honored to be able to take
part in this, however small!" He stood and saluted me, and I returned
it. I offered to hug, and he accepted. I said, "I know, not in front of
the others." Shared grins.
I scanned all the people of the North, and made a list of those who
should have consequences, and included support evidence. I gave that to
our team, and they sorted through that to decide who should be sent to
international court. Then I shifted to meet with the leaders of
religions to tell them what was going to happen. They all approved.
Government of NK started complaining about the ships in their
territorial waters. They they ordered their ships to intercept. Then
they were about to fire missiles. Then the missile commanders squawked
back to their HQs that all their weapons had either disappeared or
stopped working. They weren't believed, then. A few minutes later, some
did believe, when their own sidearms vanished. Then there was a lot of
reporting of vanishing weapons. Their ships that tried to stop the
invaders, were moved out of the way, much to their surprise. Their
Captains were then replaced by those from the South. Those of the crew
who didn't like that, were transported and replaced. Flags of the South
were raised on them.
The American troops guarding the border, retreated, and UN troops
took their place, so orderly it was like they had practiced it, which
they had. All the land mines were removed. The North's troops were
astounded, first by the vanishing of their weapons, and then by the
troop switch, and more when the gates weren't big enough for the
invasion, and were knocked down so tanks and troop carriers could enter
en mass. Troops from the South were with them. Many government offices
were emptied of people. Others were ported into place, surprising a lot
of people. That they had the blue UN armbands on, told them something
of what was going on. Both sides were surprised by the cheering that
happened. Tears of happiness, too. Manned UN vehicles were ported to
the major cities. Even the police welcomed them. They didn't have much
choice, being without weapons. PA systems announced what was happening,
to a lot of cheers and tears.
Some military aircraft tried to take to the air, but wouldn't start.
Neither did the army's tanks. We didn't remove those, so the South
could use them to guard the border with China. The people in the
detention camps were told in broadcasts what was going to happen to
them. More cheers and tears. Then they were ported to the new housing
in the South. It was a slow process, because the people were very
confused and couldn't cooperate well. Those who were left were real
criminals, and were told that. They started a riot, and were made to
sleep. When they woke up, they tried it again. When they woke up from
that, they were mostly more subdued. The guards that remained, from
those who were transported to their own prisons, were VERY cautious,
not having weapons. Then those from the South arrived to take over, and
there were a lot of exhortations of welcome expressed by the very
relieved guards.
Then the Secretary General of the United Nations announced what was
happening in a news conference in New York. She said, "The United
Nations is rescuing the people of North Korea from the criminal abuse
of their government, with on the ground assistance of South Korea, the
American Navy for transport of UN forces, and with the requested
assistance of Solomon and his group, in transporting of supplies and
people, criminal investigations, and removing weapons from North
Korea." One of the questions she was asked, "Are you using money from
governments such as America to do this?" She said, "We are using
private donations to fund this mission, that do not come in any way
from any government. Solomon has managed that." I was asked to verify
that. I shifted in and said, "I'm disappointed that you would doubt the
Secretary General's word. You know that if she had lied about me in
this, very bad things would have happened. Yes, I managed the donations
for this, which I've been working on for years. They are not from any
government. I very much approve of this action, and because we are
involved, you KNOW it will be done with fairness and respect." I
shifted out. She was asked about the possible bad things if she had
lied. She said, "I don't know what would have happened, and I don't
intend to find out. Who would want to?" Chuckles.
She was asked about the nukes. She said, "All personal weapons were
removed. All atomic weapons were removed. All other weapons are being
suppressed and prevented from operating until they can be in the
control of our combined forces." One asked, "Why weren't they removed?"
She said, "All nations have a right to, and need to, defend themselves
from other nations. After the rescue operation is complete, and UN
forces leave, those weapon systems will be returned to the local
government that is in place at that time." One said, "Will there be
unification?" She said, "That is not what we do. It will be the will of
the people that will decide if unification will happen." One asked,
"Why haven't we heard about this in Council meetings?" She said, "Our
experts and administrators deemed this an emergency. Their
infrastructure was failing. Millions would have died in the coming
usually very harsh winter. We had to act quickly. We didn't have time
for the usual drawn out debate, and possible vetoes. We could only have
done this in a good way, with the assistance of Solomon and his group,
and when they decide to do something, they will NOT wait for others."
Grins and nods. One asked, "Will you be asked to resign over this?" She
said, "I don't know. Perhaps those who would consider that, should
think about how Solomon would feel about such a thing happening because
of his important humanitarian work." That caused a lot of comment among
the reporters. And a lot of annoyed UN Ambassadors were squirming in
their seats at hearing that.
When she was alone after that, I shifted in and we hugged. I said,
"Great news conference!" We beamed our big grins at each other. She
said, "I knew the personal risk, but you know I couldn't turn this
down. A once in a century opportunity to rescue an entire nation!" I
said, "Now you know something of how my father felt, with Tibet." She
said, "I might. His was bigger." I said with a grin, "If you were a

the intro, he said, "You're here instead of Solomon. Would you tell us
why?" She said, "In the North Korea Rescue Operation, Solomon was
involved in the financing, and removal of weapons. Others of us did the
other actions. So I'm here representing that team." He said, "He wasn't
managing it?" Mom said, "In teamwork, we usually don't have a real
manager. We have individual assignments we usually volunteer for, based
on our abilities and interest, and one of us coordinates. Solomon
wasn't the coordinator of this action. One of us had been working on
this for years, and is still coordinating this action. No, it's not
somebody you know." He said, "Is he or she from that area?" She said,
"Yes, from Asia, but by coincidence. A usual duty for that person,
since Stephen asked him or her to do that kind of thing for us. Call it
his second in command, the person most powerful and wise after Stephen
at that time." He said, "You were careful not to tell us the sex of
that person." She said, "All I can tell you about that, is often." He
looked surprised, and then chuckled a little.
He said, "Why isn't Solomon more involved?" She said, "Solomon
doesn't need to be involved with this relatively straight forward
action. There is no need for abilities and talents that are unique to
him. When our coordinator decided it was the right time to start the
action, we had our team meeting to volunteer for individual actions.
Solomon asked to take care of the weapon issues, and that's what
happened. He had already managed the funding, which wasn't specifically
for this action, but for any large emergency action of a politically
sensitive nature." He said, "Oh! We didn't know that specific. Thank
you." They went to break.
Back from break, he said, "We've had reports that the major detention
centers are all but deserted now." Mom said, "All non felon detainees
have been transported to housing complexes that were specially built
for them in the South. It had to be there, because there were no other
places for them in the North." He said, "Did Solomon build them?" I
said, "The generous and caring people of South Korea built those
housing centers. Yes, they've known about this plan for years. Very
good at keeping secrets." He said, "They must be! Not a word leaked
out."
He said, "It's been reported that the International Tribunal now has
some prisoners from North Korea." She said, "The leaders of North Korea
were deliberately and systematically abusing their people, including
the use of starvation, forced labor, and torture. They did this to
people who had not committed any crimes even under their strict laws.
Children of the detainees were not allowed to leave the prisons and
labor camps, and knew no other life. And the world LET that happen! My
group has been rescuing as many as we could without causing alarm, for
years. Those responsible for all that unjust suffering and death,
should be held accountable. The International Tribunal has decided to
accept our time diving research as evidence for what happened in North
Korea." He said, "That's news! Would they do that for other
situations?" She said, "You would have to ask them about that. I doubt
you will get an an answer from the Tribunal until the situation where
they will have to decide that, happens."
He said, "Are there any more actions you or your group will be
involved in, that you can tell us?" She said, "Solomon just told me
about his decision to not allow firearms and bombs in any school in
America were there are children under 18, that are not carried by the
police, except military academies." He said, "Wow! That's a good one!
Hmm, but what if some local governments object to that?" Mom grinned
and said, "You're going to like what Solomon just told me. For any
official who objects to that, the schools their children attend will
have that protection removed, for a trial period, and those schools
will be publicly identified, and parents will be notified, and given
the private contact information of those who had objected. It's NOT
good to doubt Solomon!" He said, "Wow! I see what you mean. He really
thinks things through." She said, "And in his unique way. We love it
when he does that." He said, "A lot of people do, when they stop being
confused." She said, "He actually intends that, to help them to learn
how to think in ways they hadn't thought before. You've seen him do
that in his published actions." He said, "Absolutely! None of us here
will forget that the reason why we aren't wise, is because we don't
want to be." She said, "It's one of the wisest things ever said in
history, and he didn't say it, but helped another to understand and say
it. Such loving generosity!" He said in surprise, "I hadn't thought of
it that way! Thank you for pointing it out. More to love him for." They
went to break.
I said in the air, "It's not about me, and shouldn't be when I'm not
there to defend myself. She who butted into my actions and broadcasts a
lot in the past, should be grateful that I'm not returning the favor.
Call it loving generosity? Not never-ending, though." Mom laughed. I
said, "Can't I even have a little respect for my grumbling?" She said,
"Eh, no." I said, "Not even after I threaten to make the broadcast go
out showing you with big flapping ears?" She said, "You wouldn't!" I
Back from break, Greg said, "For the school gun issue. Will that be
offered to other nations?" Mom said, "Yes, if they ask for it.
Something you should know about this. People will still be able to keep
their guns. They just won't enter the school. The guns won't, the
people will. It will be like a specially programmed forcefield around
the school, that lets all pass but the guns and bombs. Oh, he just
added illegal drugs to the list. He said it was easy to add that, so he
did. They can leave the school, but not enter it. He said if somebody
wants to test that, they could put the drug in their back pocket and
run into the school. Ripped pants could indicate how well this will
work. Boys, don't hide that in your underwear. Er, except very bad boys
who don't care about their voice changing." He laughed.
He said, "We're out of time. Thank you Rose, for helping us
understand these things here today." She said, "You're welcome." Off
air, he said to her, "I didn't expect what Solomon said here!" She
shifted in to give them hugs.
George said, "Give me the settings." I did. He said, "Good. In place.
Used a mechanism, so it's unattended except on alarm, and will alarm
when a knife is brought in, too." I said, "Good! Well done." He said,
"Not really. I just did what I thought you would do." I gave him a rude
noise, and we shared chuckles and love.
