Solomon's Private File #107
These stories about Stephen and Solomon take place starting in
1950's. Stephen wrote about his life in letters to a penpal, and then
in a secure blog, in case he lost his memory again, in the master
computer in his school for gifted students, which he started attending
in 2016 in a new incarnation, until his death. Now his son Solomon is
attending the same school, and is writing in his own secure blog for
his future incarnations.
All characters are fictitious, even if some of them might have names
that belong to some actual people, or act like people we know.
Solomon is 18 in this story, in the Summer of 2044.

I said alone to Chad, "I want something to do. Got any ideas?" He
said, "Music?" I said, "Of course. Why else did I ask YOU?" He grinned
and poked me, and we wrestled a little. I said, "I've changed. I want
to know how that's affected my singing. And at the same time, we can
record some things for release. Well, why waste something on only one
purpose?" He had some tears. I said, "Part of the experiment should
involve duets. Got any candidates for that?" He said, "Will I do?" I
said, "Do you do duets? Oh, a do do didn't, did it?" I got poked again.
I said, "Could be a little problem with that. We might have to record
in separate tracks." He said, "I thought of that. Any genre in mind?" I
said, "No preference. Why not all of them?" He said through more tears,
"Why not?"
We found out my strange effect was still present. We recorded for two
hours almost every evening. Sometimes Chad played the piano. Other
times I took care of the instruments. One late evening, Mom said to me,
"I know what you're doing." I said, "You peeked!" She said, "I'm
serious." I said, "I insist he be at our wedding. Just making sure of
that. Gift to him, too. Think he knows?" She said, "I do. I love what
you're doing." I said, "And so do I, but really, only because it's with
him."
After weeks of recording, Chad said, "Your voice is amazing! I don't
know how you can have such a range." I said, "Well, it's in there,
somewhere." He said, "Most of these songs don't do it justice." I said,
"Oh, we HAVE to have justice. Can't do without it. Why don't we do some
extended arrangements of Hatikvah, to start?" He said, "Israel is going
to love you." I said, "More than they do now? I don't think it's
possible." He just grinned. I created some arrangements, and we recoded
a bunch of them. He said, "We've got to show the Israeli PM." I said,
"Alright, but on your own. Too embarrassing." He nodded, and said, "But
you watch." I did. Chad included other ethnic Jewish songs. The PM was
in tears. Really. He asked that they be published. I told Chad in
contact, and he said to the PM, "Sol agrees to that, but all proceeds
go to charities in Israel, AND to the Palestinians, and announced so.
Your choice of who does the announcement. Him, or you." The PM was
speechless for a few seconds, and then he said, "He really is wise!"
Chad said with a grin, "And annoying. I didn't know the arrangement
until just now. Will go on sale in your country first, then America and
the rest of the world. Also his instructions. Actually, this whole
thing was his idea." He said, "I will announce it, when I'm informed of
the correct time. Please give Solomon my love." He said, "Give it to
him, yourself." I ported in without a disguise, with my aura showing.
Chad said, "Yes, this is how he really looks now." I hugged the PM with
love. After he recovered, I said to him, "Please don't mention the
eyes. Too distinctive." He nodded, still unable to speak. I said to
Chad, "Back to work?" He nodded, and we ported out.
The PM didn't release anything of the meeting to the media, but
rumors did leak out about a meeting, and how remarkable I was. Then
faster than normal, my music was released to the stores in Israel, and
the PM announced the deal. The Arab world was close to tears over that.
Sold out in three days, and had to be reissued, then, and all over the
world. Very popular. Chad and I continued recording, but with my new
songs and arrangements. He was continually amazed. I didn't care, as
long as he was enjoying himself, and he really was.
I said to Chad, "My wedding. It's just for family. Navajo and Jewish
clergy. Need a singer. You WILL do it." He said with tears, "Thank you
for ordering." We hugged and kissed with love.
We were in our big meeting room in our family home in Window Rock.
The parents were there. Mom, Ivanna, and Percy. My grandparents
RedCloud were there. And Chad and Hawk, and Kam. And Galya and Daren,
and their little sister and brother. My new little brother, Arrow, was
there, too. No, I wasn't consulted about the name. The Holy Man of the
Navajo was there, and so was my Rabbi friend. Before we started,
suddenly, Chad looked strange. He caught me noticing that. We nodded to
each other. The other Adepts noticed that something happened, but
didn't comment. We took our places, and the ceremony went as planned.
Chad sang. Then as planned, he started a local love broadcast, and then
asked God to join it, and join us. It was Dad. Chad's love increased,
and he called out with open arms, "Stephen!" Then he fell. I was there
before he hit the floor, to lower him gently. Just his body. His spirit
was gone. I said to the group, "Chad is now with his first and greatest
love, my father, Stephen." We said some prayers. Then we let the local
authorities have his body. He was buried next to Wanda, his wife, in
DC.
Mom released the announcement. I was asked to talk about it on a
show. It was a segment, live, on the celeb interview show. He announced
the death, and my relation to Chad. He said, "We just know it was from
natural causes. Can you tell us more?" I said, "Old age is the most
natural of causes of the death of the body. That's what he died of." He
said, "Could you tell us more of the circumstances surrounding that?" I
said, "He was singing at my wedding, a small family affair. Then there
was a small love broadcast. God joined us, but the part of God that was
my father was the most prominent. Chad opened his arms and, well, let
me show you." I did. I said, "And then he was gone. My father and Chad
were best friends since they were children. The love between them was
very strong. This was the second best way he could have died." He took
a while to ask, "What would have been the best way?" I said, "If he
could have chosen, it would have been during sex. He was always a VERY
passionate man. Yes, we had discussed it at times. Mostly, his comments
about it were involving kicking and screaming. But all his lovers were
gone. So, it happened this way." He said, "I know you. You arranged
this, didn't you."
I said, "In a way, I did something like arrange his passing. I knew
he was going to die soon. We were all expecting it, but without
discussion. I didn't know if he would last until the wedding, so I got
together with him and did music recording. Yes, that was for him, to
keep him alive, and I think he knew that. After sex, music was his
passion. So I used that. Not that it wasn't very enjoyable. Any time
anybody spent with him was enjoyable. That's just the way he was. Just
before the ceremony started, he looked really odd. I think he figured
out what was going to happen. He saw me notice that, and we nodded to
each other. And so it happened." He said, "Would he be annoyed with you
for talking about his love for, er, sex?" I said, "Absolutely not. He
would be grinning his face almost in half. Actually, if he had a face
right now, that's what it would be doing. Yes, he hasn't reincarnated
yet, so I can still talk to him when I want to. He's watching us, and
missing a little the ability to laugh." He chuckled. He said, "So you
said, "Yes." I said, "Sometimes. Works best with somebody I knew. Even
then, most waiting spirits don't want to communicate at all. One thing
Chad didn't mind doing at all in life, was talking. And the more
controversial the better. It hasn't stopped in death, I can tell you!"
He chuckled. We went to break.
Back from break, he said, "Your marriage. Will you tell us about it?"
I said, "No, I won't talk about the marriage, except what I already
said. It happened. We want our family to not experience the curse of
public er, exposure." He said, "You know there is going to be
speculation." I said, "I did NOT marry a cactus!" He had to laugh. I
said, "A woman. And we plan to grow some children. The natural way. I
know there is some interest, so I should tell the world, as if that
matters, we did not go all the way until after we were married. Yes, I
was a virgin. At least in this life." He said, "Would Chad have
waited?" I said, "Absolutely not!" He laughed. I said, "Chad just told
me something. You know of the bedpost incident with my father in summer
camp, with Chad?" He said, "I do remember that. He was holding on to
Stephen's er, penis in his sleep." I said, "Chad wasn't asleep when it
started." He said, "Oh! Was he bisexual?" I said, "I think it was more
like, er, omnivorous. Intense sexuality, with an adventurous nature.
Oh, he agrees, but doesn't mind if people want to call it bisexual. But
in my opinion, that isn't a strong enough label. Oh, now he's a little
annoyed with me." He said, "For talking about his sexuality?" I said,
"No, for not talking about it on air while he was alive." He laughed,
and said, "He sounds like a lot of fun." I said, "Absolutely. But a
fierce fighter, when he needed to be. As I said, very passionate, but
also very intelligent. IQ of 202, and very knowledgeable and talented
in a lot of things. We all loved him, and always will." We were out of
time, and the show closed. He said to me, "I wish I could have known
him." I said, "I know. Everybody liked him. Well, almost. Bad people
didn't. He was merciful mostly by persuasion." He nodded and said,
"Right. Fierce, you said." I said, "But on the side of good." He
nodded. We hugged, and I ported home.
Mom said, "Well said. Painting an accurate picture in words. I like
that. So, you can really talk to him?" I said, "Sure. Most Adepts can
talk to newly dead Adepts they know." I showed her how. She said,
"Wow!" I said, "Our stones help a little. They have a better connection
there." We sat and hugged while she talked with him. Then she said, "He
wants to be your daughter." I said, "Already assumed that. He'll have
to wait a little. Fertile next week." She said, "Screw your brains
out!" We laughed, and hugged with love.
