Solomon's Private File #24
These stories about Stephen and Solomon take place starting in
1950's. Stephen wrote about his life in letters to a penpal, and then
in a secure blog, in case he lost his memory again, in the master
computer in his school for gifted students, which he started attending
in 2016 in a new incarnation, until his death. Now his son Solomon is
attending the same school, and is writing in his own secure blog for
his future incarnations.
All characters are fictitious, even if some of them might have names
that belong to some actual people, or act like people we know.
Solomon is 13 in this story, in the Fall of 2039.
Solomon's Private File #24 "Training Galya"
START Page
I said to Pete and Ivanna in an education meeting, "Dad had to give
Kam and me Senior Adept training." Pete said, "Yes. You were too
strong. And yes, you're going to have to do it for your siblings in
turn, and maybe the other Double Adept kids, too. Knowing you, I know
you knew that before you started teaching them PK." I said, "I don't
know which I should like worse; being underestimated, or not, and given
more work because of it." They just grinned. I said, "And you want to
watch. What am I, a goldfish in a bowl?" More grinning. I just sighed.
They hugged and kissed me. I said, "Alignment, too?" Pete nodded, and
said, "Tomba reported that he couldn't understand some of what he saw
when he tried to inventory you. We doubt you will have that issue,
because you are creating part of that." I said, "Don't be so logical!"
They laughed.
Ivanna said, "I've been practicing your PK lessons. Pete says I can
make crystals as well as he can, now. Theory independently confirmed.
That alone is a tremendous help to us. Thank you!" I said, "You're
welcome." She said, "There is another issue. Galya told me something
unusual." I said, "Good. It's the usual we have to worry about." They
chuckled. She said, "She said there is something special between you
two." I said, "When we first saw each other in school, in the
orientation class, we both felt a shock. A special connection. We knew
what it was. Mgambe noticed, and knew, too. It's going to happen. Our
prems tell us so. Object?" She said, "Oh God NO! Who could object to
that?" I said, "Nice." She said, a little irritated, "Is that all you
have to say about it?" I said, "Sure, unless you can think of something
else we can poke you with, about it." Pete laughed his head almost off
his shoulders. Trying to control a strange mix of emotions, Ivanna
said, "Kam was right about you. Your humor is really twisted." I said,
"Complaint?" She said, "Er, no." We hugged and kissed.
Pete said, "You are your father's heir. You own the majority of
shares of Horizon Enterprises. Your mother is proxy voter, unless she
assigns that to somebody else of age." I said, "So I'd better not be
sued." He said, "You can't be, under age, and even if you could, your
father was very careful with what he did with it. We can't sell it
until you come of age, and you can't sell it until you are 35. That
means nobody can take it from you." I said, "I don't really care, for
me. I don't need anything. But for the Enterprise, we know that no
enemy of ours is ever going to get it." He said, "Right. Still, in a
way, that makes you our boss." I gave him a rude noise. They laughed. I
said, "You know that doesn't change anything. I'll do whatever I want,
which is going to be what you want, except in emergences where ability
counts, and when it's over, you'll say 'good work', or something like
it, and then 'take out the trash'." They laughed well. He said,
"They're right about your humor. Even if we aren't sure it's actually
humor at the time." I said, "That's what makes it interesting. Er, to
me." More grins.
In the Temple room with Abbot Tomba, I said to Percy and Ivanna,
"You're sure about this?" They both said yes. Percy helped Galya onto
the bed. She didn't need it, but let him. I said to her, "This is going
to feel really weird, but it won't hurt. Nobody's turned into a frog
yet, here." She giggled. Tomba almost exploded, trying not to. I
aligned her chakras, and her Third Eye opened fully, in a very powerful
configuration. She said, "Wow!" I said, "I was just going to say that.
You're going to be one powerful lady!" She said, brightly, "When?" I
said very casually, "In a week." The adults were looking back and forth
at us, a little mystified. I said to them, "You don't think we wouldn't
have rehearsed this?" I got severely poked. I didn't mind. I reported
her inventory, and they were suitably impressed. I said to Galya, "You
know not to use Psi for a week, but I'm saying it anyway, so the
grownups here will think I'm doing a good job." She said with
exaggerated sincerity, "Oh you are!" Ivanna just sighed, and Percy
grinned. I said, "Now go and be a nice family, while I talk with the
good Abbot here." We kissed and hugged, and they ported out.
Tomba and I sat. I said, "Did you almost strain something, trying not
to laugh?" He laughed. Before he could reply, I said, "Right. Working
fine." He laughed some more. He said "You don't have your father's
humor. It's definitely your own, and I agree. It's twisted." I said,
"Good. Yes, I did get that from him." We hugged. I said, "This
situation is a tense one for the students, and to have one my age doing
it, adds to it. Fixed that." He said, with admiration, "Do you analyze
everything?" I said, "Actually, just about everything, yes. A lot of
responsibility. I intend to do my best." He said, "Is that the only
reason?" I said, "No. It's all so gosh darn interesting!" He grinned
his agreement. I said, "I want to meet your candidates." He said, "Your
humor doesn't interfere with your responsibilities. Good." I said,
"Before that, how do they feel about the death?" He said, "We know it's
not the end, but the reality of great loss tends to push that aside at
this time, so soon after the event." I said, "I know he's out there,
and a supervisor already. A full Buddha. And he isn't just watching.
Some of my humor is for his entertainment, as it is for me and others."
He said, "I like that."
We went into a regular fancy meeting room. The four Abbot candidates
came in. Only one had a fully open third eye, but not able to be a
Senior Adept. I said in contact to Tomba, "They need some work." He
said, "I suspected, but it's beyond my ability. I was the first of your
father's students to be a Senior Adept, but I never went beyond
learning to port. I didn't need to, and I had a lot of work to do here
that took all my time and energy." I said, "When they are more settled,
let me know when I should work with them. Or you can choose somebody
else for that." He said, "You, and I will." I was introduced to the
men, and they bowed low to me. We sat together. I told them about Dad
watching us, and that he was very happy where he was, and was working
hard at his new job. I said, "You know the Lords of Karma judge us and
manage our reincarnations." They nodded. I said, "The next level up
from that, is the area supervisor. That person is responsible for the
whole area of space we are in. A large part of the galaxy. That's what
he's doing now. And that's just training for the next level, which is
for the whole galaxy. The first human being, well, a dead one, to have
that position, and he's my father! I am really proud of him, and very
happy for him. I hope you are, too." They did feel better.
I said, "I see a question. How do I know this? It's not easy for them
to communicate with us from where they are. They see time as all one
thing, and we just can't understand that. But my father was the most
powerful Adept in existence, as far as we know. I am very like him in
that, if you'll pardon that immodest statement. That means NOTHING is
going to get in the way of he and I communicating with each other when
we want to. Proof of that for you will have to wait until your
abilities improve, but you are able to know that I'm not lying, and the
Abbot hasn't corrected me. He would, too, if he thought I was wrong
about anything. Actually, I think he would kind of enjoy proving me
wrong in something." Tomba couldn't quite hide his grin. I said to the
Monks, "This is a good thing. It keeps us sharp. Like martial arts
training for the mind." I stood, and said, "I should get back to work
now. I'll be seeing you soon. Of all the good bosses you'll ever have,
your own self is the hardest to please." I could see that affect them.
I bowed, and so did they. I ported away.
In Pete's office, with Ivanna and Mom, Pete said, "I didn't know that
about your father." Mom said a little dangerously, "Nor did I." I said,
"That contact we all felt after he left? Well, he has a higher opinion
of my ability to unstuff and understand that than maybe he should. I'm
still doing it. That part became clear then, so I said it. I use every
tool I have for the job, and that fit right." She hugged and kissed me.
Ivanna said, "Higher than The Buddha?" I said "The person we know of as
The Buddha, is one of many throughout history who are unknown to us
now. I have to be careful about what I say about this. Sensitive issue.
The greatest ability in life, does cary over for Buddhas in death, in
relative ability there, and therefore in the er, pecking order. In the
greater scheme of things, it's always function over perceived status.
Confidential?" They all nodded, but in awe.
I did one on one Senior training with Galya. I said, "What do you
think your basic estimated IQ is now?" She said, "You reported 230 the
last time. 236?" I said, "242, and it WILL improve." She said, "Oh!" I
said with a grin, "Is that IQ 242 talk?" She laughed. I said, "To the
Hall of Stones! Ready to go?" She was. I ported us there, on Allguard.
We saw some other students and teachers in the distance. It's a BIG
hall. I said, "Still your mind. Be open to all feelings. If you sense
something is calling to you, however faint, go to it." She went. A few
minutes later, we saw a glowing stone, among many thousands. I said,
"Take it, it's yours forever, for all your incarnations. It will never
bond with another." She picked it up, and it glowed brightly in love
and happiness, and then faded away. I ported a pendant mount around it,
with a chain. I said, "All Senior Adepts who are Guardians, have a
bonded stone. I had mine once before, thousands of years ago. When you
decide, and are able, you can make any mount you want for it." She put
it on. I said, "Here is a crystal which explains it." She read it and
exclaimed, "It's alive!" I said "Right. Ready to return?" We did.
I said, "You already know mindtalk, and with mental pictures. It
could take our usual students a year to achieve your level at that, so
our instructional sequence will be a little abbreviated." I
administered the oath. Then I gave her the first crystal on chakra
management, and told her about the installed inhibitions. She had a wow
for it. Then I did the inventory deep in her mind and brain, and
explained to her from the inside, what was there. I withdrew and said,
"If I did that to a regular new Adept, they would be absolutely stunned
by my power. You can take it, and so I can go deeper with you than I
can go safely with them. That's one of the reasons why I'm doing your
training, rather than another." She said, "I'm not unhappy about that."
We hugged and kissed.
We went looking for environmental psionic energy. Invisible to
ordinary sight Ley Lines, and concentrations of it, called nodes. She
practiced absorbing the energy, and managing where it went in her
system, and changing it into different kinds of energy. Then we ported
to a practice area. There were giant candles, unlit. She tried to light
one by squirting the proper kind of energy from the chakra in her palm.
She did very well, and then absorbed the energy to put it out. I said,
"PK practice really helped. Nobody else but me, has learned this fast."
She said, "I'm NOT complaining." We hugged and kissed, and then
returned to a classroom. I said, "Now we do contact resistance
training. I'm going to do a silent contact with you. Detect it, and try
your absolute hardest to push me out. I'll be pushing back. Do it until
I say stop." She nodded. I did the contact and she detected it, and
pushed REALLY hard. I equaled the push, until I said, "Stop!" I checked
for damage and found none. I said, "How do you feel?" She said, "Tired
and achy, but alright." I said, "You took that longer and harder than
anybody but I did. Bravo!" She was pleased. I said, "Here is the next
crystal in chakra management. It shows how to create new chakras of
different kinds. I suggest you review all the crystals you have read,
tonight. This is all for today. Make sure you get all the food and
sleep you need. This really takes it out of you." We hugged and kissed,
and she went back to class, and so did I, to teach psych.
For the next lesson, we did more contact resistance training. While
she was recovering, I said, "Why do you think we are doing this?" She
said, "To strengthen my mind?" I said, "In part, and for a purpose. We
want your mind to always be YOURS. Anybody who tries to invade it
without your permission is REALLY not going to like the consequences of
that." She had a fierce grin for that. I said, "We don't know who we
might meet out there, and how powerful they might be. If I don't do my
best to make you as strong and skillful as you can possibly be, and you
become injured, I don't think I can live with that. This training is
painful for both of us, but better now, than later." We shared our
tears in hugs and kisses.
I said, "Now we do something different." Ed ported in. He said, "At
your service!" We all hugged and kissed in greeting. I showed her how
to do the inventory on him. She was amazed. Then she practiced managing
multiple contact conversations at once, while talking to me out loud
with another conversation. Then I asked Ed to attack her with pushed
energy. I said to Galya, "This has a different name in martial arts;
Ki, or Chi. It's actually a combination of basic chakra energy and PK,
partially guided by that and the object sense, and influenced by the
emotion sense. You have a thought. Express it." She said with some
excitement, "It's all interconnected!" I said, "It's all from one
person. It can't really be separated physically, like we can in words
and ideas, any more than separating your arm from your body will make
it work better. The more you know of all of them, and the stronger you
are in all of them, the better they will work for you, and that
includes management. My father could knock down a whole building with
his Ki, but with your PK training, you can do more of that than he
could, and with better control." They both said, "Wow!" I said, "We
hear that a lot." We laughed.
They attacked each other with pushed energy, absorbing and deflecting
it, but gently. It became obvious that Galya was much stronger than Ed.
I said, "That's enough. Galya, you and me now." We did it with
increasing power, until Ed had to port away, or be caught in the
battle. I said, "Stop!" I said, "Nobody living now that we know of,
besides us, could have survived what we just did. Good work! Fortunate
we did this outside, or we would be in BIG trouble!" She giggled in my
arms. I gave her the next crystal in mind management, which included
simple scanning techniques and mnemonics. I ported some old fashioned
incandescent light bulbs to us, and said, "Dad created this exercise
first in training Zander. With this you learn fine control. Exploding
them is not the goal!" She giggled. I said, "Direct some energy
converted to electricity at the bulb, to make it light up." After a few
tries, she did. Then she varied the power and the brightness of the
light. Then pulses, and then a programmed rapid sequence triggered by a
mnemonic. After that, she said, "I see something. I have all the
ability. What we're doing is all about power and control." I said,
"Absolutely! The finer your control, the more you can do with your
power. Efficiency counts, too. In a fight, the less energy you need to
use to win, the better. Could be more opponents around the corner." She
said, "I didn't think of that." I said, "When you teach, you'll think
of a lot of things you didn't before. You have to. A good reason for us
ALL to teach when we can." She said, "Absolutely!" We grinned, and
hugged and kissed. I said, "Last thing today, resistance training." We
did that, and she went back to school.
For the next lesson, more resistance training. Then I gave her the
crystal on body management and advanced energy management. She had some
wows. After a discussion about it, I said, "Build the control nodes
now." After a few minutes, she floated up into the air at an angle, and
then corrected for Coriolis force. She already had enough math to
understand the gravity modification nodes. Information from the crystal
told her how to make them in her body. She could levitate now. We
practiced it by playing tag in the air. It was a lot of fun, but I had
to prevent some accidents with 4th shields, which I told her I had
done. She said, "When can I learn the 4th?" I said, "When your control
is good enough to keep you from killing yourself. I could have used the
4th, even port, my first year in school, but I knew better than to try
it." She nodded, and said, "Splidnt in the pool." I said, "Right. Could
have been into airless space. Don't die." She said, "I agree."
I said, "Now for another kind of resistance training. In psionic
combat, there is pushing energy at the opponent, and using more refined
techniques of that. We defend by handling that attacking energy. But
what if our ability to do that is compromised?" She said, "Wow! Not
nice at all." I said, "Right. To cause that, attack the opponent's
chakras. That means we have to learn to defend our own. How we do that
is by being attacked, and through trial and error, devise a way to
resist it. There is no one technique for it. We are all different. We
have to learn it the hard way. I have to warn you that you will feel
mighty uncomfortable in some very odd ways, when different chakras are
attacked differently. There could be some pain, and strange reactions.
I won't take it so far as to damage you, but it could feel like it at
times. Ready?" When she was, I attacked. Neither of us enjoyed it.
After about an hour, she was handling it well. We stopped and rested. I
said, "Nobody but us could have survived it at the intensity we used.
Yes, you were attacking me, too. You couldn't avoid that. Reflex. I
approve." She said, "Will we have to do this again?" I said, "Until you
can ignore everything I try to do to you in it. One or two more times
should do it. Average Adepts, much longer."
Galya said, "I'm going to be doing this to the other kids, aren't I."
I said, "For your own advancement, yes. I'll have to train my Dad's
kids. With the sperm bank, we'll have a lot of students, more than we
have ever had before. Won't be enough time for one to handle all the
Senior training. And a lot of the previous generation Adepts just can't
handle it. We are the first, so to us goes the responsibility and
privilege of serving our fellow Adepts." She said, "And it will enhance
your leadership." I said, "And yours. I think we'll make a good team.
Not that we have a choice." We grinned and hugged and kissed. I said,
"My father pledged to his future wife that she would be his first, for
going all the way, when she was ready, when they were mature enough for
turn out to be gay?" I said, "Our children will be legal. Orientation
for our kind is only about what we like best, not what we don't like,
and so doesn't limit us in fully sharing our love with all of us in any
way." She said, "It's good to be us." I said, "Absolutely!"
