Stephen's Secure Blog #378
These stories about Stephen began was when he was 10 years old, and
moving to a new part of the country to attend a special school for
gifted students, in the 1950's. This was from a time before computers
would fit on a desk, and when people communicated with friends in other
countries by actual letters sent through the postal service. He wrote
225 of them to a friend. He stopped writing to his penpal, but found he
still wanted to record his life, in case he lost his memory again, and
wrote 30 entries in his first logbook. Then he wrote to an artificial
intelligence called Geenee, in the master computer in his school for
gifted students, which he started attending in 2016. Now it's after
2018, and he's continuing to save his memories in a secure blog.
All characters are fictitious, even if some of them might have names
that belong to some actual people, or act like people we know.
The stories may not be posted in chronological order.
Stephen is 19 in this story, in Summer of year 9 of his special school.
Stephen's Secure Blog #378 "Sub Rose"
START Page
A British submarine was lost in the Atlantic. I found it. I told
Rose, "If you want to offer to rescue them, go for it, but mind the
pressure changes. If they want the sub recovered, let them have it, but
without the weapons and nuke power plant. Tell them we don't do
weapons. If they don't want it, send the whole thing into our tame
orphan star." She nodded, and ported out. I watched. They accepted her
help. She ported all the crew to a Navy base, maintaining their air
pressure in a force bubble, reducing it over the course of nine hours,
which she didn't have to be present for. Then she offered the sub, with
our conditions. They asked for time to consider. She said "One day.
It's a dangerous pollutant. If you don't tell me you want it then, as I
offer, I'll send it into a star." The Admiral said, "I want to speak to
Stephen." She said "No. I monitor what he does, and he might be
monitoring what I'm doing, or my brother might be. We all monitor each
other. Stephen knows I'm on this job, and knows I will be working in
accordance with our long established policies. You try to bother him
with this, and neither he nor I might help you again in the future. You
have twenty three hours and fifty six minutes. I suggest you make good
use of them." He stomped off. She ported home, to hear Hawk laughing
his head almost off his shoulders, with Chad close behind, and me
grinning my face almost in half.
She laughed at us. I said "He's still steaming, and muttering things
no lady should hear." We all laughed some more. Chad said to me, "I see
what you're doing. You could have done the rescue, but you wanted Rose
to get her, and their, feet wet in doing something in the open." Hawk
said, "Better they get used to her now, with bigger brass balls than
all in all the navies in the world, than after Stephen is gone, and
they don't know who to trust." We laughed some more. I said to Rose,
"May I tell CNN what you did?" She said "Like you, I don't like
publicity, but I understand the necessity of it. Yes." I said "Done.
Brits won't like that." We all said "Good!" More laughter. Just before
the time limit was up, they did respond. They wanted the sub, and told
her where. She ported it there in the condition she specified. Their
thanks looked like it was painful to them. We weren't too unhappy about
that.
I held my response to the next suicide bomb, to let Rose have a go at
it. She did. I said "Full success. Good work!" She said "Your great
programming. It hurt, but only for a second. Second time and after, I
can do it entirely without hurting, but I won't." I said "So you know."
She said "It's not real what you do, until you really have to do it.
I'm the second most intelligent person we know, but I didn't really
understand about why you do these things the way you do." We shared our
tears. Hawk said "Er, Rose." She said "Yes?" He said "Your aura. It's
bigger. You're more enlightened." Rose said "I feel more. Of
everything." Hawk said "Do you remember more lives?" She said "No, but
the one I remember is clearer." I said to her, "You don't need to
remember more lives." I said that in ancient Hebrew. She said in
English, "What do you mean, I don't need to?" Hawk had a mysterious
smile on his face, which Rose didn't notice. I said "What language did
I ask that question in?" She made a silent "Oh!" I grinned and said, "I
don't know that one." Hawk laughed. We poked him. She said to me, "I
don't know why I understood it. Oh! Can you see, oh, yes you can. You
did that with the Regent issue." Hawk said "He can see people's past
lives? Oh, he can. He did that with his painting!" He said to me, "You
can do it consciously now?" I said "Yes. I do everything consciously."
He said "Wow!" Rose said "If you let go, you will really go? Is that
it?" I said "Part of it, yes."
I said "Change of subject. Rose, would you give permission for the
sperm bank to use my er, deposits?" She said "Yes. It's very unlikely
any of them will be born before Kamala. I just told Chad." I said
"Hawk, you need to find a spouse of some, er, kind, for after I'm
gone." He grinned, and said, "Taken care of. Percy and Ivanna, and with
kids." I said "Good group. I'm happy for you." He said "So they have
real sex in heaven." I said "Yes, and they do it just for fun, too." He
said "Would really upset the Catholics." Rose and I said together, "I
hope!" We laughed. I said "I just told Paolo. He's laughing. He wants
to meet with us. I told him we're naked. What a mix of emotions!" We
laughed. Rose said "I'll drop Sol off with mom. She's waiting." We
ported our clothes on, and did that, and ported to our public meeting
room, and then ported Paolo to us at his request.
We told him what we had been doing. He said to Rose "You actually
felt their pain? Couldn't you block that in some way?" She told him why
she wouldn't try to do that. He cried. We hugged him. Then I really
surprised him by saying, "Now you know why he went willingly to the
cross. When you suffer for all of humanity, that is almost nothing." He
cried some more. We hugged him some more. Hawk said "He must really
like our hugs, he makes us do it so much." Paolo almost choked. Then he
said, "You learned that from Stephen, the humor defusing emotion
technique." Hawk said "If you say so. Who doesn't learn from him, when
they are with him? Just who he is, is at least a little contagious."
Paolo nodded. I said "So I'm a disease now." Rose said, "But a very
nice one." I said "Well, that's better. Er, I think." We all chuckled.
Paolo said "I have something to report. Some of our Cardinals plan to
retire soon." I said "Ah! Had to mop the floor, did they?" He laughed
really hard, more than Hawk did. When he could, he said, "Almost,
literally. I think some of them have concealed child abuse. Oh, you
knew that!" I said "So has the Pope, but he has reformed. Those in
crimson caps, didn't. There are going to be vacancies. I hope you like
red." He nodded and said, "It's possible. You convinced me to build a
power base. That might cause it. You planned this." I said "You might
be totally astonished to know how much I DON'T plan these things. I
just do what I should, each step of the way." Rose said "He is so
enlightened, that he doesn't know if the events cause him, or he causes
the events, because they are the same thing. You can say wow. We do, a
lot." He nodded mutely.
I said "We are going to have a daughter." He said The Dalai Lama?" I
said "That's what he planned. It's too early to see if it actually
comes true, with real objective proof, but we did have specific
permission from above. I had that twice, for myself, not knowing that
at the time." He said "You never cease to amaze me." I said "Good! I'm
doing something right." He laughed. He said "Do you know what you are
going to say and do in your next TV broadcast?" I said "I don't know,
because I don't know what the questions will be, and how they will be
worded. I respond reactively."
Hawk said "Can you look ahead and see them?" I said "Yes and no, and
no and yes. The questions and answers play off each other. If I look
and see, I can't help preparing for them, and that will change the
dynamics of the show, and the future. But then, that would already have
happened, so I would look because I did, but I'm not going to." Rose
said "I'm the second most intelligent person we know of, in the whole
galaxy, and I don't want to even THINK through that!" Hawk said "Me
too!" Paolo said "I agree. Much too much for me." I said "We in this
reality can't really think like that in a useful way." Paolo said "But
you can." I said "Well, I'm almost all the way over, so more of my
consciousness is operating there, instead of here, which is why I can
see anything of the past I want to. But it's not good for us to see the
future, so I don't. I saw two children. Only two of ours. In seeing
them, did that create a condition that caused us to only have two, and
not more?" Rose said "I think I see what you mean. I have to agree." I
wiggled my eyebrows at her, and said, "That doesn't mean we need to
stop er, practicing." She and Hawk laughed, and Paolo was embarrassed.
I said to him, "Want to play some music?" He leapt at that like a man
standing on an fire-ant hill, to a dangling rope. We went and played
music, with love. It was good.
