Stephen's Secure Blog #237
These stories about Stephen began was when he was 10 years old, and
moving to a new part of the country to attend a special school for
gifted students, in the 1950's. This was from a time before computers
would fit on a desk, and when people communicated with friends in other
countries by actual letters sent through the postal service. He wrote
225 of them to a friend. He stopped writing to his penpal, but found he
still wanted to record his life, in case he lost his memory again, and
wrote 30 entries in his first logbook. Then he wrote to an artificial
intelligence called Geenee, in the master computer in his school for
gifted students, which he started attending in 2016. Now it's after
2018, and he's continuing to save his memories in a secure blog.
All characters are fictitious, even if some of them might have names
that belong to some actual people, or act like people we know.
The stories may not be posted in chronological order.
Stephen is 16 in this story, in the Fall of year 7 of his special
school.

Before we ported to Tibet, Eli and I talked a little. He said "What
you are doing there is very interesting. Tibet is vary interesting.
Alright, both are exciting. I would like to be a part of that. Please."
I said "Have you met Srinoy?" He grinned really wide, and said, "I sure
have! Quite a little man. Sweet on on the outside, but a fierce warrior
on the inside. I don't just love him, I admire him." I said "Well, that
might help. He is my deputy for what I'm doing in Tibet. After me, for
us, what he says, goes. Among us, ability and wisdom rule, not age. Can
you accept that?" He said, very seriously, "Yes I can. I know what you
mean. He's got it." I said "There is more. He is not to be seen outside
of monasteries. He is still underage, and we don't want the public to
think he is involved in anything dangerous, even though nothing can
hurt him. In fact, anybody who tries, well, I'll feel sorry for them,
and help with their healing." He laughed. I asked to inventory him, and
he agreed. I said "I'm impressed! You have all the academics, and then
some. Your energy management is very good. Your psionics are above
average for your level. What you need to work on some more, is your
physical training, and mind management skills. Srinoy can help you with
that, when you two have time. I predict considerable improvement for
you in the future. Don't make me wrong."
He said with a grin, "I wouldn't dare." I said "Right. While you
aren't yet able to use the 4th, you can still fake it a little with the
Guardian Kit, so you do have some defensive and offensive abilities."
He said "Will I ever?" I said with a grin, "Even if I knew, I wouldn't
tell you. Don't stop practicing, though. Here are your Tibet team
clothes, and the pin. It doesn't actually have a pin, so here's how it
all works." I told him, receiving a few wows. I said "Tomorrow morning,
Tibet time, I'll take you to join Srinoy. Until then, you can be
studying up on the country and the religion. Now about your hours. I
recommend immersion. What do you think?" He said "Doesn't my excitement
show?" I said "I didn't want to presume. So, do you want to live there
in the Monastery full time as a teacher of psi?" He said "More than
anything I can think of. Well, as an occupation thing." We laughed. And
did the other thing, and we squirted well.
After permission, I ported to Rhamcha's office. He said Srinoy was
doing very well, and was very popular. They loved him. I said "That
will probably go a little above that soon." He grinned and nodded. I
said "I will be bringing an assistant for him here, tomorrow. He is an
adult, and came to us as an adult, so he is not as advanced as Srinoy.
He can't port, or fully manipulate objects, but otherwise is a full
Adept of my school, and qualified to teach what he knows. He accepts
that Srinoy is his boss. There are some interesting things about him
you might want to know about. He was raised as a Christian
Fundamentalist, and is still a Christian, but he has come to accept and
value different paths to the best part of the other side. Well, he had
to, because Christianity doesn't have reincarnation, which he now knows
is real. He has a GREAT sense of humor, and he is the one I made that
saying for. He is eager to learn all about Tibet and Buddhism. And one
other thing. He is fully of my people, and that includes sexual issues.
I sense the question. You will have to ask him, after saying I said he
could tell you." He grinned really wide. I said "Oh, and one more
thing. He and I are asking if he can live here." He said "Absolutely!"
I said "I can only speculate, but possibly he might be sharing insights
almost as much at night, as in the daytime, if things work out as I
think they might. If you're not careful, that grin could split
something." He laughed. I said "I'm sorry, but Srinoy can't live here,
too. He still is working on his academics, and his parents want to see
him sometimes."
I stood, and said, "Tashilhunpo. Ready?" When he was, we ported
there. While we waited, I said, "You know of the controversy?" He said
"Yes. The old Panchen Lama was selected by the Chinese after The Dalai
Lama had already selected another one by the method used before, who
has been held by the Chinese ever since." I said "Still, there is a
problem. Both selections were according to tradition, but the
disagreement was caused by politics, not the reality of the
reincarnation." He said "I see. You are going to have to decide, and
you can't bow to politics. If you decide against the Dalai Lama, there
could be a big problem. A very big problem." I said "There already is a
problem. I know which is the right one, and with what the Chinese have
done to him, he is not fit for anything. I can't fix that. On the other
side of the problem, he who is here, is NOT to blame for what happened
when he was a child. He is a good man who has done well. There is no
perfect solution." He said "That is more of a problem than I thought.
What will you do about it?" I said with a mysterious smile, "We will be
told that." He waited, and then said, "Sometimes you can be very
frustrating." I said "Good! Thank you." He laughed.
A Lama came out and invited us in. He looked nervous. It was
difficult for us not to comment on that. There were some overly curious
tourists. I made them not be aware of us. We went into a meeting hall.
So were some other monks. The Panchen Lama came in. We bowed to each
other, and were asked to sit on the stage in chairs. After some polite
things, I said "In all my time here in this country, I have never seen
so many nervous people." Rhamcha had to control his reaction. The
Panchen Lama said, "We are uncertain of what you will do." I said "Most
are, including myself. This is different. Please explain. If you want,
we can discuss it privately." He said "No, Master Teacher. We do not
keep secrets from each other here. There was controversy over my
selection for this post. We are concerned you will say some things
about it which will cause changes, and perhaps more controversy." I
said "A reasonable concern. I am pleased by your courage in expressing
it, and that you do not need to hide that from your people."
I said "I will state the story in a simple way. Two children, who do
NOT have any fault in this, were selected as the reincarnation of the
10th Panchen Lama, by different traditional methods, by different
people, for political reasons. Is this correct?" He said "It is, and
well said." I nodded. I said "You were chosen by a committee composed
of Tibetans and Chinese, by a chance drawing of recognized candidates.
The other was chosen by the Dalai Lama from visions, before that. Is
this also correct?" He said "It is." I said "Before we proceed, will
you allow me to question your people, here and now?" He said "Yes,
please." I turned to the audience and said, "How has this man performed
as The Panchen Lama here in this Monastery? Has he been a good man? Has
he performed his duties well? Do you love him? You don't have to say
out loud what I perceive of your feelings. Are you sad and hurt by the
controversy about this? Last, is the question you most would not like
to hear. Do you want this settled? I see you are undecided. I like
that, because you don't know how that would or could happen, without
causing more trouble."
I turned back to The Panchen Lama, and said, "The other child is a
man now. Unfortunately, he is not fit to rule even himself, much less a
Monastery, or an entire Tradition. The Chinese have ruined him in his
confinement, which in my judgment he should not leave. No, I can not
heal his mind and spirit. He would not agree to it, and I may not
violate his will, weak as it is, on that issue. This means your
position is secure, and you have my support in it. Now here is my
question for you. If it is determined that he is the actual
reincarnation, and not you, given that you now know more of the
situation, what do you think should be done in the best interests of
this Monastery and its people?" He said "I understand. It is like
balancing on a rope. If that is the case, I should renounce the title
of The Panchen Lama, and assume the title of Regent, and continue my
work here if that is approved, and if he passes before I do, I would
assist in locating his new incarnation, if I am able." I said "Well
reasoned. How would you feel if all that actually happened?" He looked
really surprised, and said, "I would like it! If I am not who I am
supposed to be, I would like it resolved, and that resolution is right
and best for all. Either way, I would feel such relief after all these
years, I couldn't imagine the joy I would feel." I turned to his people
and said, "If your Master had to become Regent, if the determination
went that way, how would you feel?" There was overwhelming approval.
I said "I am now ready to settle this. I have examined the other
selected person. From that, I have found that the true incarnation of
the 10th Panchen Lama, is that other person. It was not a vision I had.
I actually saw his past lives, when I looked deep into his mind and
spirit. BUT, I have found that you could not have had a better Master
than this man here, the Regent. He has told us what he should do. He is
wise. I could not disagree with that. If any of the other Abbots would
go against this, I will defend the Regent very strongly. Those who know
me, know that my will usually wins. What say you?" There was an awful
lot of very loud cheering. The regent cried. I went to him and hugged
him with all my love. Rhamcha was crying, too.
After things settled down, Rhamcha looked a question at me. I nodded.
He said to all, "Sometimes The Master Teacher can be frustrating in how
he teaches. I said that to him, after I asked him what he would do
about this situation. That reply I thought frustrating was, 'We will be
told that.' And so we were, just as he said. Just as his humor, his
other ways of teaching are VERY effective. I will never forget this
lesson. When you let others be wise, we ALL gain in wisdom." I stood,
and said, "And love!" And I gave all my love to them, the whole area.
Then I said to the Regent, "Now for the fun part. Can I see all the
great things you have here?" He grinned, and said, "Absolutely!" We
went outside. There was a wall on a hill, overlooking the Monastery.
Just a narrow and tall wall, all by itself. Nice, though. There was the
Maitreya Temple. Tall, and very nice. Inside was a statue of The
Buddha, 26 meters tall. It was covered in thick gold sheets. Well,
under all that cloth. There were other Temples and Chapels, and big
buildings, all in good repair and beautiful. After a while, I said to
the Regent, "I need your help. I usually give a gift to the places I
visit. What should it be here?" He started to say something, and I cut
that off with, "Yes, I know all that. You don't want to know how many
times I've heard it. Not once did it help. I need to leave something
here to poke at the Chinese, AND to cement my commitment to support you
as Regent, to all others." He said "Ah. I understand. For the Chinese,
something big and impossible. For us, something of a Buddhist nature."
I stopped dead. They turned and looked at me.
I said "I have an idea. That mountain looks a little er, empty." The
Regent said, "Such a condition could be changed." I said "I like it as
about this?" I put up a gigantic light sign illusion. There was an
image of The Buddha at the top. Underneath was the name of the
Monastery in Tibetan, and on either side of that, in Chinese and
English. Underneath was a Saying from one of the Sutras, in the three
languages, which changed every ten seconds. It was in golden light. I
said "That's just a temporary illusion. The light would dim at night,
but still be visible. There would be no machines, and nobody could feel
anything if they touch it. Just light you can see and photograph, and
nothing else. What do you think of the idea? And don't give me polite
agreement. I want to make this, or something else, which is right for
you. If you think it should be changed, or something different, I
really want to know." He thought a little, and said, "I think The
Buddha image is lonely up there without company. Could we have a wheel
of life on either side, a little smaller?" I did that. I said "That
does look better. Thank you. What about the colors?" He said "Too much
of that would take away from the message." I said "How about this?" I
put a higher intensity blue dot where The Buddha's Third Eye would be,
and green hubs in the wheels. He said "Perfect! I can't think of
anything else." I said "But do you actually want it, and there?" He
said "Yes! Big for tourists, and the Chinese will be very frustrated,
trying to examine something which isn't there, which they can't touch,
and they can't stop." Rhamcha said, "And people might learn from the
sayings. Very good idea." I said "Well, they will sure will be able to
find the mountain in the dark." They chuckled. I said "I made it real.
If you change your mind, I can always change it, or turn it off.
Contact Rhamcha at Sera to reach me."
Back in Rhamcha's office, I said, "There was another lesson in how
the selection issue was solved. What was it?" He thought for a while,
and was about to give up, and then it hit him, "You planned that! You
made him think of that solution. Very skillfully done!" I grinned and
bowed. I said "And the lesson is?" He said "There is more than one." He
caught my approval of that. He said "When you need a solution for
others, have it ready, before you approach them. Give them information
in a way which leads them to the path to it. If they choose it, it is
theirs, and so much more acceptable. More so if is has some benefits,
even if it has some bad things. They will follow their choice better,
if they are proud of it, and themselves for choosing it. And he who
leads them to it, you, in this case, is their hero. Wow! The Situation
Manager in full force! I see that more than ever now." I said "Good
leaders have something of the Situation Manager in them. But if they
swallow me, they might get something extra." He laughed.
Back at my house, Rose said, "I want some of that Situation Manager
in me." I said "Where?" She said "Yes." And she did, and it was a lot
of fun.
