Stephen's Secure Blog #222
These stories about Stephen began was when he was 10 years old, and
moving to a new part of the country to attend a special school for
gifted students, in the 1950's. This was from a time before computers
would fit on a desk, and when people communicated with friends in other
countries by actual letters sent through the postal service. He wrote
225 of them to a friend. He stopped writing to his penpal, but found he
still wanted to record his life, in case he lost his memory again, and
wrote 30 entries in his first logbook. Then he wrote to an artificial
intelligence called Geenee, in the master computer in his school for
gifted students, which he started attending in 2016. Now it's after
2018, and he's continuing to save his memories in a secure blog.
All characters are fictitious, even if some of them might have names
that belong to some actual people, or act like people we know.
The stories may not be posted in chronological order.
Stephen is 16 in this story, in the Fall of year 7 of his special
school.
Stephen's Secure Blog #222 "About in Lhasa"
START Page
I ported to near the Sera Monastery in Tibet, just North of the
capital, Lhasa. It was the same spot I had ported to before, because
that's where Rhamcha was standing. We greeted each other. I said "I am
tempted to put something on this spot, so you will have to be someplace
different next time." He grinned and said, "Please!" I grinned back and
said, "I am a little more tempted." He said "I will try to increase
that over time." I bowed, which he returned. I said "There are many
places to visit, and walking would take a lot of wasted time. We could
go my other way. But then, you and I do not waste time together,
whatever we are doing. And there is another benefit to walking.
Increasing my presence, and assumed vulnerability, may draw some
interesting er, occurrences, with some even more interesting results."
He said "Walk, please!" I said with a grin, "You knew I knew you would
say that." He said "Absolutely!" I said "Now another decision. By
habit, I restrict the flow of my power, so as to not cause
disturbances. I will let it flow freely for a moment, so you will know
what I mean." I let my Ki flow. Then I stopped it. He said "Wow!" I
said "With that going, people around me will automatically obey my
wishes, unless they strongly object. On crowded walkways, they will
make room for me, without realizing it, even if they never actually see
me. But, because we are testing if there will be confrontation, I
should keep the restriction in place. Do you agree?" He said "Most of
me does." I grinned and said, "Part of you wants to witness its
effects. We might do that at some time." His emotions thanked me.
During the walk into the city, we talked. I said "Have you read the
crystal?" He grinned and said, "You knew I could not resist it. I did,
and shared it with my fellows who I thought you would approve of." I
said "There might have been some interesting reactions." He laughed. I
said "I should assume that I was correct." He said "Very much so." We
discussed them for a while. Then I said, "You may relay to them my love
and respect." He said "Thank you. I would really like doing that." I
said "I know, which is one of the reasons why I really like you. At
some time, we all should have a meeting. No, it won't be at Sera. It
can be anywhere in the galaxy I choose, when my kind of transportation
is involved." He said "Wow!" I said "I think you should find a word you
can use to substitute for that, before you wear it out." He laughed.
We were noticed in the city. He, obviously being a high ranking Lama,
and me, being somehow senior to him, and because some recognized me
from my other reported appearances and actions. We had to return a lot
of bows. Then a police officer approached us. He did not bow. He said
to me, "You are a stranger." I bowed to him, and said "Yes I am, to
those I have not met." Rhamcha controlled his reaction well. Some
witnesses didn't. The officer was confused. He said in a peremptory
tone, "Show your papers!" I reached inside my shirt, which magically
opened for my hand, which he didn't notice, and pulled out my passport.
He said "There is no authorization for Xizang." I said "If you will
look closer, you will see that I entered China from Mongolia, at the
Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and the authorization and stamp is
for ALL of China, including this Autonomous Region."
He did look, and noticed that. He obviously did NOT like being
corrected. He said "This isn't a real Passport. It doesn't look like
anything I have ever seen." I said "It is of the United Nations." He
looked surprised. He said "It is a fake. Come with me!" He started to
walk. I followed. So did Rhamcha. The officer turned to him and said,
"Not you. Just him!" Rhamcha bowed and said, "Stephen is an honored
guest of Sera. He is the Abbot of his Temple, and is known all over the
world as The Master Teacher. I have been asked to accompany him." The
event was drawing a crowd, and they were murmuring, and looking very
unpleasant. The officer said, "I don't believe you." He said to me,
"You, come along!" I said softly, "Look around. They know who I am. If
you continue on this path, I may not be able to protect you from them."
He looked afraid, and then he backed away, and pushed through the crowd
and ran off. I said to all, extending my Ki, "There is no problem here.
Please go about your business." They did. Rhamcha said "Wow! I see what
you mean by your flow of power."
We walked some more. Then he said, "He has your passport." I said "No
he doesn't. And his gun doesn't have any bullets in it. In fact, no gun
belonging to a policeman in Lhasa, has bullets in it now." He almost
said wow, but stopped himself. I grinned at him. I said "He will be
back with more police. I will see to it that is not before we enter a
place where he should not go. I warned the Chinese President about
this, and told him to instruct his people here not to interfere with
me." He said "I am beginning to know you now. You knew that would have
no effect." I said "Yes. Not even if he had actually done that. I will
show him why, in our next meeting. He believes in his kind of Communist
principles. I will show him, using this as one of many examples, why it
will never work here. And that if it stays, this will be the nucleus of
unrest for all of China, causing the eventual overthrow of his
government." He said "I have to say it! Wow!" I laughed.
We walked into one of the very many small Temples in Lhasa, and spun
some of the big prayer wheels. It was crowded. We were honored by a lot
of people there. It was the same at the next Temple. When we walked out
of it, a squad of policemen were waiting for us. One we had not met
stepped forward and said to me, "You will come with us." I said
pleasantly, "Why? Am I being arrested? If so, on what charge?" He said
"You are here illegally. You have no passport." I said "That is
curious, very curious. How do you know that, when you have not even
asked to see it?" He said "Then show it to me." I took it out and gave
it to him. He noticed my shirt open by itself for me to reach into it,
and then close, and his eyes opened wider. He looked at it, and I could
see he recognized it as a real UN passport. Unfortunately, he realized
he was past the point of no return, in face saving, so he said, "There
are questions. Come with us." I said "I can answer your questions very
well, right here, and save you some trouble."
He could see the crowd was getting angry. Some officers put their
hands on their guns. I said "Did not our first officer tell you that I
am the Abbot of my Temple, and an honored visitor here?" He obviously
hadn't been told. But he couldn't back down. I said "Please be careful,
and tell your men to take their hands away from their guns. If one is
drawn, I may not be able to save your lives. They know who I am, The
Master Teacher, who shared his love with the world." Rhamcha said "It
is so. He is an honored guest at Sera." They all looked afraid, and
grabbed their guns even tighter. I said "We will go with you, to avoid
blood being shed here. Your blood. I would not let you harm my people.
Yes, they ARE my people. I lived here in some of my past lives. Stand
aside while I encourage them to let us through." He was ready to wet
his pants, he was so afraid. They did move. I pushed out my Ki, and
added a projection of calm and love, and said to the crowd, "Please.
There is no danger. I will not let them harm us. We will go and resolve
this matter in peace. Please let us do that." Rhamcha and I walked
forward, and the police followed us. The crowd parted.
We walked a few blocks to the police station. The crowd followed,
getting bigger. I whispered to the officer, "I hope you learn from
this, or your pride will get you killed some day." He said "I am
beginning to see that. Thank you." I nodded. Then I said, "I should
tell you that I removed all the bullets from your guns. From every gun
of every policeman in Lhasa, actually." He said "I shouldn't, but I
think I believe you." I gave him some love, and he twitched in
reaction. I said "If you let me do the talking, I'll try to get you out
of this with your boss." He said "Please! Thank you very much!" I said
"You're welcome." We went into the station. The Captain asked him what
the problem was. I stepped forward, and said, "There was a question
about my passport. We thought it should be resolved, and so here we
are. The people outside are a little er, disappointed about this,
knowing who I am, so I hope we can clear this up right away, so there
will be no trouble." He said "Let me see the document." He did, and
said, "It is in order. What was the problem?" My new friend the
sergeant, said, "The officer who first examined it, declared it false
and its presenter a liar, and then reported the incident to me
inaccurately. I responded, and discovered that serious unrest could
develop, because he is a very honored visitor at Sera. We came here to
resolve this." The Captain said "You did well." His officers behind me,
and Rhamcha, almost choked. I waggled my finger behind me, and there
were more faint choking sounds, and some coughs.
I said "Before this situation becomes worse, may I advise you how to
er, fix this for the crowd?" He said "Please do!" I said "My friend and
I will walk out, with you and the sergeant. You both will bow low to
us, and we will return it, and you will wish us to have a pleasant time
in Lhasa, and then you will go back inside. I will use my power to keep
them calm, and then to cause them to disperse." He looked unbelieving.
The sergeant said, "Believe me, Sir, he can do it! I, we, owe our lives
to that. He is the one who's love the world felt, and those outside
know that." His mouth dropped open. Then he stood and bowed deeply,
which I returned. I said "I have an idea. This might happen again.
Alright, we know it will. Your political system encourages abuse, which
I will tell the President the next time I meet with him. May the
sergeant accompany us today, to prevent that? If he would like to." The
man in question nodded. The Captain said, "Yes, let it be so. And I
will pass the word for all the police to treat you well. We are honored
by your presence." I bowed. My plan worked. Before we left, after the
crowd had gone, which was after I said, "There is nothing to see here.
You can go about your business," with the full force of my Ki and will,
to hear Rose's laughter in my mind, and Hawk exclaiming, "May the Force
be with you!", I said to the Captain, "As a precaution to prevent
injury, I removed all the bullets from the guns of every policeman in
Lhasa, when things started to go bad. I apologize for any inconvenience
that may have caused." He was still in shock, while we walked away.
Rhamcha and the sergeant could barely contain their laughter. Then the
sergeant said, "When you meet with the PRESIDENT?" I said "Yes. A few
weeks ago, in Beijing, I told him I was coming here, and warned him
there could be trouble, and told him to instruct his people here to not
cause that with my presence. I mentioned that again, a few days ago,
when he asked me how I crushed the chairs." His mouth dropped open. I
said "You should close that, before something tries to build a nest in
it." Rhamcha laughed, and we heard the mouth in question snap shut. I
said "I should tell you, before you ask, I am unable to lie." He said
"That does not surprise me. You knew there was going to be an
incident." I said "Would you have expected it?" He looked sad, and
said, "Yes." I said "Do you think I would let that stop me from doing
what I came here to do?" He said "Assuming you can do much more than I
know you have, I expect nothing will stop you from doing what you will
do. But, what is that?" I said "I am here to learn, and to teach.
Through the incident, I have learned some things, and will have taught
a great many people some things." He stopped, and said, "Yes! I see it
now. All of Lhasa will know of you, and what happened. For a short
while at least, there will be less violence here." I said "Well,
Rhamcha, what do you think?" He said "I am impressed. Very impressed."
He bowed to the sergeant, who was very embarrassed and humbled, when he
bowed in return. I wrapped them both in my love.
