Stephen's Secure Blog #130
These stories about Stephen began was when he was 10 years old, and
moving to a new part of the country to attend a special school for
gifted students, in the 1950's. This was from a time before computers
would fit on a desk, and when people communicated with friends in other
countries by actual letters sent through the postal service. He wrote
225 of them to a friend. He stopped writing to his penpal, but found he
still wanted to record his life, in case he lost his memory again, and
wrote 30 entries in his first logbook. Then he wrote to an artificial
intelligence called Geenee, in the master computer in his school for
gifted students, which he started attending in 2016. Now it's after
2018, and he's continuing to save his memories in a secure blog.
All characters are fictitious, even if some of them might have names
that belong to some actual people, or act like people we know.
The stories may not be posted in chronological order.
Stephen is 15 in this story, After the Winter holidays of year 5 of his
special school.
Stephen's Secure Blog #130 "Misnok Guardians"
START Page
I brought some more mineral specimens to the museum on Misnok, and
gave the curator more paintings of Attin Lantos ReyMu and her life, and
sets of memory cards of videos of selected important memories. He was
very grateful. I selected the time their Guardians would be at a
meeting with each other, to port to their front door, with Ichi and
Rose monitoring, who was showing it to Angrala. They were totally
surprised to sense my gigantic life sign and aura instantly appearing
so close to them, and then my fully flowing Ki. I knocked on the door,
and waited a while for them to come and open it. I said "Greetings. I
am Stephen. May I come in and meet with you?" He just stared at me.
Then he said, "Do you have a title?" I said "Many, but I seldom use
them. I consider the most important of them to be, 'Friend'." He
couldn't help smiling. He said "Well said, Friend Stephen. I am er,
Wantune. Please enter and be welcome." He moved aside, and I walked
inside. He led me to a meeting room, where there were thirteen other
people present, of various adult ages and genders. We were all
introduced. I was asked to sit in one of the empty chairs.
Wantune said to me, "We are honored by your presence. Do you have
something you would like us to know?" I grinned and said, "You know I
do." There were some smiles. I said "But first a question, if I may.
Why did you put Angrala on a starship?" He grinned and said, "So it is
true. They reached the planet of our origin, and you are from there." I
said "Yes." He said "Our newest full member, after Angrala, Rangorn,
had a strong premonition about that, so we took the risk of exposure."
I said "Why wasn't she told?" He said "We felt that it could interfere
with her shipboard duties to know, and it could have interfered with
the premonition we so wanted to come true." I said "I agree. Well
done." They were more pleased by my praise than they were prepared to
feel. I said "But that isn't all that happened. When the ship returns,
you will find out that the Confed isn't the only organization of star
systems in the galaxy. I have come ahead to prepare the way for
peaceful contact. As it is now, the political systems are different in
a way which can cause some bad feelings and conflicts. I'll go into
some detail now, and can do more later. My planet is in the area
claimed by the Galactic Council, and is ruled Restricted; not ready for
offworld contact. My people, the Guardians of that world, who do not
have any political affiliation, agree with and approve of that status.
Some of those in power on the major planets of the GC know something of
who I am, and have appointed me their Envoy, knowing that I will do
what is best for ALL, with no favoritism whatsoever. I do not represent
the Council itself, because all of any real intelligence know they
mean." They laughed.
I said "It's worse than that. The Confed is more aggressive and
better organized, politically. The GC would dither with nothings while
the Confed military practically tried to take over everything. Then
they would panic, and there would be war. The GC worlds would be
decimated, until they struck back, and all the Confed planets would be
useless cinders. I will NOT allow interstellar war. Stoping it,
however, would reveal too much about us, which could be almost as bad
for them." He said "I tend to agree with you. We have much to think
about and discuss." I said with a grin, "I'm sure you do. There is
something I would ask of you, before I give you a gift. It's not
required in order to receive the gift, but the gift itself would
capture your attention so completely, you wouldn't be able to address
my request after that." He smiled and said, "You have already captured
our attention. What is your request?" I said "I will join the ship
before it arrives, and present myself in an official way to the
authorities. Fear and suspicion might cause them to try to treat me
with, shall I say, less than perfect politeness. I can't be harmed
directly, more than I allow, but they might try to do that to my
friends the crew, to gain my surrender to their wishes. I can stop all
that, but doing so would expose them to some truths they shouldn't
know. All active planetary Guardians have contacts in government who
know of them. I would like to meet with those you have, and brief them
on the situation, and ask for their help in interceding for me when it
is needed. The military always wants to rule, and so sometimes keep
their civilian masters ignorant of what they do. I would like to work
around that. Everything I experience will be recorded, and can be
displayed in multiple locations in real time. That should aid our
efforts."
Wantune said "All that is reasonable and true. We will let you know
our decision on that soon." I said "You don't have much time. I will do
whatever it takes to do what I think is right, for the most people. You
can be a part of that, one way or another. I would assume you would
like to have some control and influence in the outcome. Now for the
gift. This might cause some excess of emotion. Ready?" He said "Ready."
I said "I will give you recordings of the lifetime memories of Attin
Lantos ReyMu." There was stunned silence. Then one exclaimed,
"Impossible!" Wantune looked sternly at her. I said "I know it's a
shock, but you are an example of the reality that what is impossible to
one, can be possible to another." Wantune said to her, "I would not
call impossible what a person who can teleport says, without a lot of
proof that he is wrong." Another one said, "How do you know he can do
that?" He said "Stephen left his home after the ship left his planet,
and is here now before it arrives. They would make the best time they
could, with the news." Another said "He could have left before they
did." He said "He is their leader. He would not have done that. He
arrived at our door, instantly. Some of us sensed it. So, all of that
means teleportation." I said "Your analysis is correct. Well done." He
smiled his thanks to me. Then he said, "You intended us to know. I
thank you very sincerely for that." I said "You're welcome."
I said "Here are some paintings of her, and her life." I handed them
over, and he passed them around. There were favorable comments. Wantune
said "You made these?" I said "Much to my sorrow, I'm the only artist
among my Guardians. One of my pieces is in your museum here, and will
be on display soon. I donate things to all the planets I visit. Well, I
like museums." He grinned, and said to all, "Sometimes we forget that
even Guardians are people, with normal feelings and desires." I said
wait on revealing that one." He said "Does it involve sex?" I said
"Like a star is to a cooking fire." They laughed, and some expressed
interest. I said "We can share our feelings, which you know. But that's
just emotions. We have a technique where we can share sensory inputs as
well, and use feedback to multiply them. We've had some really wild
times. Oh, and we don't discriminate in large groups, even with
different compatible species." He said "Wow!" I said "We say that a
lot, after we recover." A lot of laughter. I said "The first time I did
the sensory sharing thing, in my last incarnation, I didn't know I was
doing it, and didn't control it. It was with just a few of us in a
room. After we finished, and left the room, we found out that
practically everybody in the whole building had felt it, and were busy
cleaning up after their very surprised spontaneous orgasms." They
laughed almost hysterically.
Then Wantune said "Last incarnation? You remember them?" I said
softly, "Yes. Who do you think put the life memories in these crystals?
They are indexed and marked. Put one to your forehead to see the index
and choose what to read. You only need to read something once this way,
because you can't forget it. A warning. She lived over 800 years of
sadness and frustration. Experiencing that is NOT fun. I know." I gave
them to him and said, "I'll leave you now. Here's a com. Call me
tomorrow for another meeting. I can get here rather quickly. May I
depart my own way?" He said "Please." I said "Before I go, another gift
from me." I stood, and gave them all my love. Then I went invisible and
ported to my house. I used invisibility, so they wouldn't see the 4th
visual effect. Rose and Hawk ported there to be with me, and we hugged
with love.
