Dear Doc,
Very well said, as usual. My stomach turned when I heard the news of
the latest madness ... and as I watched President Obama speak of it,
tears ran down my cheeks as well. As long as Americans insist that if
not the best remedy, then the most effective, is a violent one, we
shall see this gun-driven slaughter again and again. We see this
condemnable propensity at every turn ... and yet do not learn the
lesson!
Let them argue their 2nd Amendment ... let them cry and rage against
this senseless crime while extolling the opportunity of any citizen to
express violence using one or more of the better than two million guns
in the United States at present. But rather, I should like them to
explain it to those dead CHILDREN ... laying pale in pools of blood
and gore ... the fundamental right of bearing arms!
Oh, but they are only children ... or were only children ... and
wouldn't understand!
How many times shall this terrible price be paid to uphold this
madness? It is no less than reprehensible, and a foul stain on a
society that prides itself on its philosophy of freedom, liberty and
happiness, rendering it little more than a mere shell of hypocrisy.
And, yes, I would be persecuted, hounded, ruined, incarcerated and
perhaps killed for my LOVE of boys ... deemed worse than the most
atrocious murderer. Yet this seems the way of the world, however evil
and unjust.
Regarding FK meow George, you know things are particularly bad when
one can't even pop out for a pint without setting off a hissy-fit.
