Stephen's Secure Blog #63
These stories about Stephen began was when he was 10 years old, and
moving to a new part of the country to attend a special school for
gifted students, in the 1950's. This was from a time before computers
would fit on a desk, and when people communicated with friends in other
countries by actual letters sent through the postal service. He wrote
225 of them to a friend. He stopped writing to his penpal, but found he
still wanted to record his life, in case he lost his memory again, and
wrote 30 entries in his first logbook. Then he wrote to an artificial
intelligence called Geenee, in the master computer in his school for
gifted students, which he started attending in 2016. Now it's 2018 and
later, and he's continuing to save his memories in a secure blog.
All characters are fictitious, even if some of them might have names
that belong to some actual people, or act like people we know.
The stories may not be posted in chronological order.
Stephen is 13 in this story, in the Summer, after the end of year 3 of
his special school.

I woke up first, as usual. I spent the time waiting for them, with
filling up my gallery room with duplicates of what I had in my gallery
on earth. Then I created some more gem crystal sculptures from ideas
and research I saw at the museum, and ported copies to my gallery on
earth. Some of them had Ssintris in them, for local interest. I was off
the bed, sitting cross legged on the floor with a pad and pastels,
painting Hissssner's portrait, when Rose and Hawk woke up and came to
join me and watch. I said without turning, "Somebody should keep a non
private watch on Hahchet, so we'll know when he's looking for company.
When he is, invite him in, so he knows of our climate preferences, and
can see us naked. We will tell him not even Zander has seen us this
way, which is the way we are among ourselves. I would like him to think
of us as real friends. What do you think of all that?" Rose said "Good
idea. Fine with me." Hawk said "Me too." That's what happened, and Hawk
asked Hahchet to come in and see me being an artist. Hawk told him why
we were naked, and asked if it bothered him. He said it didn't. I said
without turning around, "Anything you have questions for about us, even
things things you think might be embarrassing, ask. The worst that can
happen is we won't answer. The best, laughing our heads almost off."
They laughed. I said "For something REALLY good, and they do fall right
off our necks, watch where you step." They laughed some more.
Hahchet said "Why do you wear clothes sometimes, and not at other
times?" I finished the portrait and stood up and said, "Pockets!" He
laughed. I said "And protection. Our skins are more sensitive than
yours, and much more than Zander's people. And while this room might
seem cold to you, we are sensitive to colder environments. Most people
who wear clothes most of the time, do it for two reasons, besides
protection. To enhance sexual attraction, even when their culture would
have them deny that, and for religious reasons, usually in the mistaken
assumption that covering up things removes them from the mind, which
often becomes normal custom. Our regular people in most places on our
planet are like that, and public nakedness is usually considered
immoral and illegal. We Adepts think that's stupid, because clothes
don't hide anything from our perceptions, and if it's one thing we are,
it's rational and logical. Or is that two things? Anyway, having no
clothes, is a great enhancement to physical affection. We will hug each
other, and I'll link all of us together, with your permission, so you
can feel it as we do." He said "Please." We hugged in the link, and he
said, "Wow! I like that!" I said "I have an unusual sensitivity in a
certain area. It gives me great pleasure to be touched there. Would you
like to experience that, too?"
He said "Oh yes!" Hawk played with my nuts, and Hahchet almost jumped
out of his skin. When he recovered, I said "There is more and better.
Interested?" He said with a grin, "Would I live through it?" I said "I
don't know. Might be worth the risk, though." He said "I'll try it." I
said "For us, this will be sexual play, but not involving actual
attempts to reproduce. We do it a lot, because it feels very good, and
it keeps us together in love. Ready?" He nodded, and we went to the
bed, and repeated what we did the night before. Hahchet dropped to the
floor, and squirmed around on it, feeling great. We felt that with him,
and he finished as strongly as we did. While we were all resting, I
asked Hahchet, "Did you live through it?" He said "Yes, gloriously!" I
said "We are pleased for your enjoyment. We will now go and clean
ourselves up, for Zander's visit. Feel free to wander around. My
gallery room is open and filled for viewing. Our equipment, such as our
rings, are keyed to us individually, and so won't work for you, so you
are safe from them if you accidentally touch one of them." He grinned
and said, "Well and politely said." I grinned back at him. We went to
shower and eat.
Zander contacted ahead, and flew in right after that. We were dressed
and ready. I told him about what I had in mind for Rose and Hawk to
assist when needed. He approved. I said "But YOU are responsible for
your student's education, not them. If they have any disagreements with
you, they should be communicated to you in private, and any
disagreements that are not resolved in your favor, should be reported
to me." They all said they understood. I said "When the time is right
in his progress, contact Pete to schedule time in the arena, if you
want to. After some practice there, I think it would be good for all of
us, if Earth's students were invited to join in that." Zander said "I
agree. Multiculturalism is good, and best started when young." I said
"In the real school you are going to build, you will be teaching the
whole student, and not just his psionics. That means education in the
sciences, history, and philosophy. And there is the physical. Fighting
arts training. HARD training. That's necessary for learning physical
and mental discipline, which is essential for advancement in psionics,
and in carrying out the duties of a Guardian. In support of some of
that, I have prepared some teaching crystals for your race, and for
Hahchet's. They are marked. In academic, there is math, adjustable for
different base systems, biologies, including medicine, other sciences,
which includes physics, astronomy and astrogation, GC engineering,
which includes computers and spaceship design, GC cultural studies,
which includes languages, history, religion, philosophy, and art. A
word about the last. Creativity is very important, because using the
crystals as learning aids, tends to suppress that. Always stress
creativity in thought and action, to compensate for that. Make your
students do some kind of art, even if the results are terrible. Better
that, than people who can't think for themselves. Even creative dance,
is better than nothing."
I said "Math is very important for physics. We need to understand
that as much as possible, because it enables us to do more with our
psionics. For instance, would you like to be able to levitate? Fly all
over the place and bash into very startled birds and other owners of
the sky?" Zander said "You can do that?" I raised my hand to Rose and
Hawk, and all three of us rose into the air. After we came back down, I
said with a grin, "Practicing that with a game of tag can be VERY
interesting." They laughed. I said, "But to learn how to do that, you
must know some very advanced math. When you do, there is a crystal
which will give you the technique. The other crystals in psionics also
work only when the student is ready for them. The academics, too. As an
extra thing, they won't let you use them if you try to use one too soon
after the previous one. They are set for eight day intervals as a
minimum, but will extend that on an individual basis, if the student
would be confused without more time to get used to the crystals. They
are a great aid to learning, but are only that, an aid. The student
must USE the knowledge the crystals impart, in discussions and in
composing reports and research projects, and laboratory experiments. I
suggest you contract with a university or two, for teachers to conduct
those exercises. They should NOT be told about the crystals. Soon, you
will have students becoming able to teach other students, and then you
will be able to dispense with outsider assistance. You will need to
arrange some kind of academic accreditation for your school, for the
accomplishments of your students to be recognized. Contact us for
questions or assistance with any of that. Pete would be the best choice
to help. Any questions so far?"
Zander said, "I should not contact you for such help?" I said "For
some, such as building your school in an hour, and similar things which
only I can do well, I'll help with. I have responsibilities on many
worlds, and won't have time or desire to do what other people can do,
and SHOULD do for their own improvement." He said "Ah! I should have
thought of that. I understand." I said "But I always have time for
love." I gave them all that.
Zander asked me, "You made all the crystals?" I said "Yes. This
morning." He said "Wow!" I said "I hear that a lot." He laughed. I said
"I know what you want to ask next. Yes, I know all that is in them. If
I hadn't before, I would have to, in making them. And to your next
question, yes. I do know more than what is in the crystals. You don't
need all 70,000 years of that right away." He struggled not to say wow,
and came out with, "I suppose not." I grinned and said, "Well done." He
laughed. I said "What do you plan to do today with your first real
student?" He said "Inventory and the first crystal. Then contact and
resistance training." I said "Good. I suggest after you do it first,
you let Rose do most of the resistance training this morning, so you
and I can see about YOUR improvement." He said with admirable
restraint, "I concur." We grinned at each other.
I said to Hahchet, "Do you accept Zander as your teacher, in all
things he would teach?" He said "I do." Then I nodded at Zander, and he
knew what to do. He said "Hahchet, I will teach you. Do you accept me
as your teacher in these things we have discussed, and agree to obey me
when I exercise my duties as your teacher?" He bowed and said, "I do,
Honored Teacher." I said "I am very happy for you. May you both become
the greater for your association. Zander, call for Rose when you need
her. We will be in our rooms." We all bowed to each other, and we
humans went to our room." Hawk actually cried. He said "It's like
saying goodbye to a friend. I like him a lot. I didn't expect this
reaction." We hugged him. I said "I did, but not so much. We can still
visit like friends, but not often. We shouldn't distract him, or tempt
him to ask us for things only Zander should teach him. I like him a
lot, too, but I don't expect to visit him much. I'm so much more
advanced, it would take away from his respect for Zander, specially
when he finds out that his teacher is so much less able than we are."
Rose said "True. And wise. I just learned something else today.
Sometimes wisdom hurts. I can feel that in you." I nodded. We just sat
and hugged, with support and love.
