Stephen's Secure Blog #58
These stories about Stephen began was when he was 10 years old, and
moving to a new part of the country to attend a special school for
gifted students, in the 1950's. This was from a time before computers
would fit on a desk, and when people communicated with friends in other
countries by actual letters sent through the postal service. He wrote
225 of them to a friend. He stopped writing to his penpal, but found he
still wanted to record his life, in case he lost his memory again, and
wrote 30 entries in his first logbook. Then he wrote to an artificial
intelligence called Geenee, in the master computer in his school for
gifted students, which he started attending in 2016. Now it's 2018 and
later, and he's continuing to save his memories in a secure blog.
All characters are fictitious, even if some of them might have names
that belong to some actual people, or act like people we know.
The stories may not be posted in chronological order.
Stephen is 13 in this story, in the Summer, after the end of year 3 of
his special school.
Stephen's Secure Blog #58 "Prep for Zander's Museum"
START Page
I contacted Zander and told him about what I wanted to do with a
museum there. He liked the idea and said he would arrange it with the
president in time for our meeting about the plates. Then I took care of
other things, including visits to check on Ivanna. I let her have all
her abilities back, but still kept a watch on her brain which she
couldn't detect. Then I went to visit the RedClouds, and had a meeting
with the father. In the master bedroom, I wiggled my eyebrows at him
issue, Senior Adepts don't get infections, or cancer. We have too much
awareness and control of our bodies to allow any of that. What we die
of naturally, is things just wearing out, usually involving the brain.
Most of us die by choice in very old age, when our bodies become like
prisons, and we are eager to see what the new life will bring." He said
"I don't know what to say about that." I said with a grin, "Then don't.
Anyway, I'm not here for that. I have a plan. I know, that's not
unusual." He laughed. I said "I want the GC to know us as more than
spaceship fixer-uppers and ass kickers of the Van, but also as generous
creators and appreciators of advanced culture, too. That might happen
in time, but not under our control. I think I can change that, so I
will. One shouldn't let opportunities pass which can be used to create
the image you want. Ask any entertainment star. There is interest in my
art, so I'm taking advantage of it." He said "I can surely understand
THAT!" I grinned at him.
I said, "I just donated an all natural gem encrusted box to the
Smithsonian in DC. Here is a picture of it." I projected the illusion,
in rotating 3D. He said "Wow!" I said "It didn't cost me anything but
time, and the star ruby was too big to put in a ring, so I had to do
SOMETHING with it, didn't I?" He hugged me and said, "You sure did!" I
said "Ah, there are more of them, actually. That big stone the ruby
came from had 5 layers which I separated into different stones. I'm
going to donate another similar box to a museum on the planet where the
GC is, using my name, like I did here, to link them. The President of
that planet is already my personal and state customer. On that visit,
we will be working out the details of a Presidential dinner service
commission. I would like to have Rose and Hawk with me for that, to
give them more exposure to alien people. There is no danger, of course.
Nothing can get through our shields, which we will have to use, because
of the heat. One of the reasons for having them with me, is I want the
people we meet there to know I'm not alone in this. That we are a
group, and not just one very odd individual. Our physical differences
will support that, too." He said "You do think things through!" I said
"Thanks. I have to, because the future of the human race depends on it.
Another reason to have them with me is, well, I like them, and like
their company. And they're family."
He hugged me and said, "I knew that, but it's still nice to hear. Of
course they should go with you. They would anyway, because it's a
Guardian job." I said "Yes, but one shouldn't ignore various chains of
command when one doesn't need to, and I thought you might like being
the one to tell them." He said "Yes, I would! Thank you." I said "In
private, so the other students won't know. I'm not playing favorites,
because I have plans for Rose, based on her talents, and this supports
them. Hawk is included, to keep the family together, and as chaperone,
for YOUR ease of mind. I don't want to have to explain all that to the
other students. Bad precedent for my decision making in the future." He
said "I understand." I went outside and did some swimming with the
other students, and had a good time. After that, Rose and Hawk
contacted me and told me they liked how I handled their father, in
letting him have the pleasure of telling them about the mission. There
was a lot of love in that communication.
I ported home and checked on Hahchet. I didn't like what I saw. When
he was alone, I called him on the 4th radio I had given him. I said,
after the usual polite things, "Are they teaching you anything?" He
said "No. I don't think they know more than I do. In fact, from being
in contact with you, I think I actually know more." I said "Why didn't
you contact me about this?" He said "I didn't want to be a complainer."
I said "We already know you aren't, from the report of the mining
manager. Would you like to change teachers?" He said "Yes, please." I
said "Even though it will be really hard work?" He said "Yes. Sweeping
floors all day is boring." I said "Probably even for the floor." He
laughed, and said, "My teachers here have no sense of humor. Just
religious convictions." I said "I'm sorry. Those don't usually coexist.
Zander likes my humor, so at least that will be one thing which will
improve. He has a problem which you can help solve. He needs a good
student. His current students are like your current teachers.
Unmotivated infinity gazers. He used to be their possible student,
until he came to me for training. Yes, he was my student." He said,
"Then I can be assured he is competent." I said "You succeeded in
surprising me. I didn't expect that complement." He laughed. I said "In
a day or two, we are going to that planet for a mission. Zander will
join us. Would you like to be with us during that, and stay with Zander
after it? Or we can take you some time after that." He said "You are
just being polite." I said "Maybe the student knows the teacher's
teacher too well." He laughed again. I said "We'll take you for the
mission in a day or two. I'll give you enough time to give a fond
farewell to the floors." I said goodbye while he was laughing.
I visited Ichi and his family in Japan, for supper, and I would be
spending the night. I gave them one of my active globes, and they were
entranced. The father said, "How does it work?" I said "The pressure of
your hand induces a small electrical current, to augment the minute
amount of energy the globe takes from the space around it, to make the
swimmers go faster. They swim in groups because of that, too. It was an
experiment, and I thought you might like to have it." He said "You
thought right. Thank you." I said "You're welcome. Oh, I just thought
of something else. May I have a minute?" He said "Please." I thought
hard, and there appeared on the table, a sculpture of a kneeling
Samurai Archer, in bronze colored diamond, about 22cm tall. They all
said "Wow!" I said "I should come here more often. Great for artistic
inspiration." Ichi's mother said, "ANY time!" I grinned, and Ichi tried
not to laugh.
Later, in bed with Ichi, he said, "Thanks for your visit. I feel too
much away from the action, here." I said "In a very short while, you
will be 18, and you will be free of childhood responsibilities, and
have adult responsibilities take up more of your time. Whole summers of
not working, will be a thing of the past you will wish you still had.
Make the best of this while you can." I poked him, and he poked me and
then we did the usual sex play to squirt. While we were hugging and
resting, he said, "I know what you mean. I just wish you could come
more often." I said "I would have to drink a lot more liquids." He
tried to growl and laugh at the same time. It didn't work, so we
wrestled around. Then I said, "Are they after you to get married?" He
said "All the time!" I said, horrified, "Not while we're squirting, I
hope!" He laughed. I said "Do they have a preference for Japanese?" He
said, "Of course. Unless you have a sister." I said "Sorry. Can't make
one." He said "I'd like to make one. Often." I laughed. I said "I
wouldn't mind having your sister, even if I don't have a preference
yet." He said "If she knew you as I do, you wouldn't need to ask. After
you get a little older, I think. But then, here, power is a powerful
aphrodisiac." I said "Maybe. Our kids would look a little strange. As
far as I remember, I've never been so light skinned. I don't like it.
Sun wants to burn me crispy." He said "Paint?" I said "Tried that.
Didn't work well. Turned me flakey." He said, "Well, your color does
make you stand out in a crowd." I said "What color? Anyway, I'd rather
be inside sitting." He laughed. I said "But with what you're doing to
me in the link, at least part of me is standing." He said "So I have
observed. That will be resolved soon." And so it was, with some great
squirting, and a lot of love.
