Stephen's Secure Blog #40
These stories about Stephen began was when he was 10 years old, and
moving to a new part of the country to attend a special school for
gifted students, in the 1950's. This was from a time before computers
would fit on a desk, and when people communicated with friends in other
countries by actual letters sent through the postal service. He wrote
225 of them to a friend. He stopped writing to his penpal, but found he
still wanted to record his life, in case he lost his memory again, and
wrote 30 entries in his first logbook. Then he wrote to an artificial
intelligence called Geenee, in the master computer in his school for
gifted students, which he started attending in 2016. Now it's 2018 and
later, and he's continuing to save his memories in a secure blog.
All characters are fictitious, even if some of them might have names
that belong to some actual people, or act like people we know.
The stories may not be posted in chronological order.
Stephen is 12 in this story, in the Summer after year 2 of his special
school.
Stephen's Secure Blog #40 "Sing to Wanda"
START Page
At the crack of dawn, we cracked our eyes open. Naturally, the first
thing we did was kiss each other very thoroughly. Then we did nut play,
and squirting. Then more kissing. Then we cleaned up and went outside
for some fighting practice. After that I said to Ichi, "I mentioned to
Hawk I could levitate without the belt. Can you do that, and if not, do
you want to learn?" He grinned and said, "Ready to receive." I grinned
back at him and sent the info. A minute later, he was flying all around
the place. Then we played air tag. It was fun, but we had to remember
not to fly into things, like the ground. Cress came out to get us for
breakfast, and ran back inside yelling for them to come out and look.
We could have stopped and denied we did it, to play a trick on her, but
we didn't, and were still flying around when the rest of the family
came out to see us. Hawk explained it was something I had just taught
them. I said "These are the first two of us who can do it, beside's me.
It takes advanced knowledge of physics, and very good energy control.
And somebody who can remember not to fly into things. I learned that
lesson the hard way in France, during a diplomat rescue. Birds do NOT
see very well behind themselves, when you're overtaking them at a
hundred k an hour in the dark. That's when I developed the shield."
Hawk said, "I'll bet!" We laughed, and went inside to have breakfast,
which was very good.
Then it was a sad time. We all knew our visits were ending. We all
hugged and kissed each other, even Hawk's father. I said "This isn't
goodbye. I'll be available any time you want me to be, for any of you,
and the Council. Just call our comm center, or have Hawk contact me."
Ichi said "That goes for me, too. Just like Stephen, and probably most
of us at the school, I love to have more people to love, and having a
great extra family like you, is too wonderful for words." I said "In
fact, if you allow, this home could be a great hangout for the kids at
school, all year long, and they would benefit a lot from exposure to
Navajo culture. I know I sure did!" Hawk's father looked very
thoughtful, and a little calculating. He caught my wink at him, and
grinned and nodded. I said "If you're interested in any of that, call
Pete at the school. There could be some interesting financials
involved, too." That really got his interest. I let him know I caught
that and said, "There are more ways to resolve problems than one might
think." He knew I was talking about Rose going to school and leaving
Cress alone. He came over to me and grabbed me in a big hug and kissed
me right on the lips, with some tears. He whispered "Thank you." I
whispered, "Right back at you."
Ichi ported home, then I did. Tim and Mac were there, with part of
their minds doing Adept duties remotely. I told them about my
adventures with the two families. They laughed for the Yakuza and the
shit faced boy, and were sad for us about the Guardian action at the
Temple. Then Tim said, "Chad wants to see you." I said "Now?" He
nodded. I dressed and contacted Chad, who said I should port right
over. I did, and he didn't look well. I said "What's wrong?" He said
"Wanda has passed on." That was all we said for 10 minutes, which we
spent hugging and kissing our tears away. Then I said, "Are you going
to go, or stay?" He said "Stay. We should, and there would be a lot of
other people I would miss." I said "Have you sang for her? I think
maybe she might be able to hear it." He said "Yes." I said "Good. Can I
do it with you? I've been practicing Amazing Grace. If you agree, and
it wouldn't treble you too much, you start, and I'll do harmony. It
shouldn't harm many." He smiled and said, "I still love your humor,
along with the rest of you. I agree." He sang in a clear tenor. Then I
joined in, and his eyes went really wide. After that verse, we sang it
in different styles in different keys, tears of sadness and enjoyment
mingling on our cheeks. After we finished, we hugged some more. I said
"You know, I think she could have heard it. It's not been 40 days yet,
and they sometimes do check up on us. Oh! Wow!" Chad said, "She did
hear us. I felt that. Not as strongly as you did, but I knew." I said
"I think her next life is going to be very interesting." He grinned and
said, "Knowing her, it couldn't be otherwise." We hugged some more, and
his sadness really did go mostly away.
I said "Can I play with your organ?" He said "What?" I grinned and
said, "Your fancy organ. You know, music? I just learned to play." He
grinned back and said, "That wasn't an accident. Do you think you can
reach all the controls?" I said "No. I figured how to play a big pipe
organ in Los Angeles, remotely. I can do that here, too." He said, "Go
ahead, Show me what you've got." I reached for my zipper, and he
laughed. I turned on his organ, and from where I was, still in his
embrace, I played some Bach. Then for a change, some Polkas. Then The
Gates at Kiev. Then the Emperor waltz. Then Holtz' Jupiter. Then some
Joplin rags, then the Blue Danube. Then for the last one, the very
beautiful Concierto de Aranjuez. Then we sat for a while. He said,
"Some of those were your own transpositions and arrangements. On the
fly?" I said "Yes, mostly." He said "Can you take a wow?" I said "Oh
yes, I'm a big boy." We laughed.
I said "I've got some news to give to Pete. Want to come along?" He
said, "Sure." I had already asked in contact, so we stood and ported to
Pete's office. I told him all about what happened in Japan. He and Chad
laughed when I showed him what happened to the Junior Yakuza. I told
them all about what happened in Navajo country, including what my art
did for the Navajo, and the family situation, and about Rose, and my
idea to use them as extended parents to more students. They both wanted
to see my art. I said "I think they would be honored to have you come
look at it, specially Hawk, who knows more about who and what you both
are. I would like that. But without me. I can stand only so much
embarrassment, so I'll sit that one out." That earned me some tickles.
Then I told them about my concerns about lack of creativity. Pete said
"I've been thinking about that too, ever since you built the Arena.
You're right. I think we should have more artistic things in the
program, and see if that helps, to start." Then I told them what I had
in mind for Rose. Chad said "Delegate to the GC! You really do think
big." I said "I hope this doesn't insult, but I feel somebody has to,
and I'm worried about that. I won't be around forever. Because of my
strange beginnings in this incarnation, my lifespan is going to be
longer than normal, but I'll probably end it before I wear out. I've
discovered that reincarnation is a great adventure, not to be missed,
or put off too long in pain. Being a boy again is just too much
interesting fun to wait too long to do it again and again. I'm sorry if
I sound a little selfish about that." They both said "Wow!" I tickled
them. Chad said, "You deserve some selfishness. And I'm beginning to
agree with you. I'm still staying around, but I'm looking forward to a
new life full of interesting things, even if I don't remember this
one." I said, "Would you want to remember?" He said "I've thought about
that. The best answer I have at the moment is, I don't know." I said
with a grin, "I would, because I expect to die with a lot of new plans
for the future I would want to continue to work to make happen." Chad
said "Ever the schemer, you Sneaky Suspicious Devious Devil." We
laughed.
I said "Speaking about that, it looks like we're going to have some
visitors earlier than expected. That relief ship from the Van homeworld
is still expected in 9 years, but they sent another one from a much
closer starting point. We need to take care of it before they find out
their stations aren't theirs anymore. I don't want them porting anybody
back home with that news. So we have to figure out if we can use the
4th to disable their matter transmitters before that can happen, as
close to the solar system as possible. I think we have a year to work
on that. I just wanted you to know. It will be really interesting to
see if they can port at a significant percentage of the speed of light,
time dilation would have on the process." Chad said "Absolutely! What
an opportunity." I said "Too bad they are hypersensitive to mind
contact, or I would suck on one of their minds right now." Pete said
"Wouldn't taste very good." I said "Right. But I haven't tried regular
telepathy on them. Yes, I'm a full telepath, but I keep it turned off
almost all the time." Pete said "Wait! How far does their automatic
reporting go?" I said "I don't know. Probably just inside a solar
system at the farthest." Chad caught on and said, "Maybe you could
snatch one." I said "I could work on that, and to an insulated room,
too. And onto a stoned bed. If we can use the 4th through their ship's
shields. I was hoping we would have a lot more time to work on that,
like 9 years." Pete said "We have lots of Van in storage to practice
on." I said "Before I do that, I'd like to ask the stones who were in
the matter transmitters, about it. Maybe next week with Ichi."
I said "This week I have two other projects I'd like to work on. I've
run into situations where I had to stop and ask the people I'm involved
with, what their capabilities are, before proceeding with the action.
That's not a good thing for an active situation manager. To fix that, I
need to know what all the people we have available, can do. So, will I
be allowed that information?" Pete said, "Yes, boss. I'll push the code
to unlock it for you." He did and I caught it. I tried it and said,
"Hmm, that accesses EVERYTHING." He said, "Naturally, Mister
President." Chad said "You can accesses a computer just with your
mind?" I said "You mean without using a control code like a virtual
keyboard? Yes. It's like extra memory storage to me, and a very fast
calculating part of my mind. I can talk to the AI that way, too." Pete
said "How long have you been doing that?" I said "Oh, about a minute. I
just tried it, and it worked." They both said "Wow!" Then Pete said,
"Do you think you could teach that to others?" I said "Sorry, no. I
couldn't have done it in my last incarnation at my best, and so far,
nobody else has equaled that." Chad said, "You were fantastically smart
and skilled then. What are you now?" I grinned and said, "Stephen!"
Chad said "I deserved that." I said "Maybe. Anyway, I need to check
back home, and then make arrangements to visit Jeremy at camp. I have
some love to give him." I gave them my love, and we hugged and kissed.
It was lunchtime at home, and I had some with Mac and Tim. The girls
were in their home countries. Then I went to my bedroom and contacted
Hawk to tell him about Pete and Chad's interest in my art. He laughed
and said they were already there. I laughed with him, and disconnected.
Then I checked at the school to see who was there, and if there were
enough for a recess. I set it up, and ported there to be in it. Mgambe
was VERY happy to see me. I stayed at the school to teach martial arts,
and Mgambe came home with me to spend the night. I knew he wanted to,
so I invited him. After supper, I told Tim and Mac that I would be
visiting Jeremy at camp. Mgambe asked if he could come with me. Mac
said "You already do." We laughed. His foster parents gave their
permission. I contacted the Adept who monitored the camp, and asked him
to ask Jeremy if we could visit the next day. He said +I don't have to
ask. I'll happily inform him, and he'll love to have you as long as you
want to visit. So would your old cabin mates. You made quite an
impression last year.+ I said +Oh. Well, thanks. Discom.+ I could feel
him laughing as I closed the connection. I said to everybody, "It's
arranged."
In bed, I asked Mgambe how much he knew about my reincarnation
situation. He said "Only that you have some of the memories of your
former self, and they are verified by people who knew that Stephen." I
said "Because I'll be telling Jeremy more than that, you should know it
before then. I have those memories in full. ALL of them, and of other
incarnations, going back thousands of years. Some of the original
Senior Adepts who knew the previous me, know that, and so do Ichi and
Hawk. So, it shouldn't be blabbed about to others, except to stoned
Adepts." He said "I understand and accept. Now I will play with your
stones." I said "I don't think you need to announce that." He giggled,
and I turned on the link. Soon, we helped each other to squirt. While
we were resting, I said, "I think we look very interesting together
like this. A study in contrast. White and black. I like it a lot.
Except for one thing." He said "What's that?" I said "I don't like
being while." He said in surprise, "I never heard THAT before!" I said
"That's what Hawk's father said. My extra pale skin is lighter than any
I have ever had, and it doesn't tan. It just burns. I have to use a 4th
shield in the sun, set to block all UV, to prevent that. I really wish
I didn't have to do that, or stand out like a ghost so much. I like
your skin much better than mine. Much more practical." He said "I never
thought of it that way before. I don't think it would go well with your
light blond hair and brilliant blue eyes." I said "I suppose so. I
guess we can't have everything we want all the time. In the mean time,
I could get as close to your skin as I can, in envious compensation."
He said "You won't hear any complaints from me about that!" We laughed,
and that made us want to squirt again, so we did, and loved into sleep.
