Stephen's Logbook #1 Entry #30
These stories about Stephen began was when he was 10 years old, and
moving to a new part of the country to attend a special school for
gifted students. This was from a time before computers would fit on a
desk, and when people communicated with friends in other countries by
actual letters sent through the postal service. He wrote 225 of them to
a friend. Please refer to them for insight into this new series of
stories. He stopped writing to his penpal, but found he still wanted to
record his life, in case he loses his memory again. So, we can now look
into selected entries in his logbook to see how he is doing.
All characters are fictitious, even if some of them might have names
that belong to some actual people, or act like people we know.
The stories may not be posted in chronological order.
Stephen is 18 in this story, in the Fall of year 9 of special school.
Stephen's Logbook #1 Entry #30 "Updates and Relationships"
NEW ENTRY
The new psychic potential students we had invited this year from the
summer camp Tommy runs for us, are doing well, like the summer camp
students from last year. 2 of them are geniuses, which is an extra
bonus. We have 3 new genius students for the security program, and one
of them has psychic potential. Bone and Mac have 3 more adepts working
with them, who were older recruits from last year. We now have a prison
for the Van we capture, with Vans in it, at the island station, and we
have one undamaged transport of theirs, in one of the hangers. I have
plans for that, if we ever develop a powerful genius adept young enough
to be small enough to fly it. We have examined their minds, and put
them in crystals, but didn't learn much more than we already knew,
about what they know.
Zander has not asked for another visit, but we have built special
reception centers for the major species of the GC, including his, on
the island. They are all climate controlled, and have furniture and
other conveniences which are specialized for them, including guest
quarters. Zander's gift of the book viewers has been a source of great
excitement among us. Actually, we all went pretty much crazy over them.
Cindy mentally drooled over hers so much, I was wondering if she would
actually get it wet. Jan caused me to have to work hard to get her
lipstick smears off my face, after I gave one to her. I think Pete is
in love with his. The first thing Rod did with his, was take it apart
and convert its internal power system to use one of my 4th batteries.
Then he did that for the others, so we can use them as much as we want,
without having to plug them in to recharge them. I could have asked Rod
to do that, but knew I didn't have to. When he gave mine back to me,
our feelings showed we both knew that, and thought it was amusing. We
loved.
Debbie and I are going to be expanding our love. She's pregnant. The
baby, a boy, according to my object sense, is expected to be born just
after the end of the school year, like we planned it. He will be named
Abraham Chad Holmes, after Debbie's grandfather, and my friend Chad,
who was embarrassed but pleased, and asked for he and Wanda to be
Godparents to him. We agreed, because that's what we wanted. Chad knew
that. Debbie is going to finish her BS in 2 years, with our help. She's
happy about that. We stay together with Chad and Wanda in DC, and she
uses the Port-All to our apartment in Baltimore, and walks or rides the
bus to classes. She's made some new friends, and sometimes I port there
in the evening with her to entertain them, sometimes with Chad and
Wanda. We aren't nudists then, like we are at home in DC.
Debbie knows I still have sexual play with my friends. She doesn't
have any problem with that, because she knows my friends and I need it,
to be who we are and at peace with that and each other. Sometimes she
joins us, and has a lot of fun. More often, we do a 4way with Chad and
Wanda in the link. Rod rarely does sex play with the rest of us. His
girlfriend isn't interested in that, which means he isn't, either. They
might be getting married soon. Bone and Mac are still together, and
they sometimes do sex play with us for community ties. Race and Nigel
have different girlfriends now, but still spend more sexual time with
each other, and with Pete and me. Pete is still single. Davie has a
girlfriend who is a student at our school, and they are exclusive to
each other. He has turned out to be a fine young man, and is liked and
respected by all.
We are still researching the bookviewers, but I have discovered
Zander violated GC regulations in giving them to us, because they
contain more than just information about the peoples of the GC, but a
whole lot of useful information about their technology, including full
technical specifications and instructions on how to build and operate
their machines. Maybe because he knew we didn't need any of that for
ourselves, he thought it would be safe with us, but very useful when we
had to help some visitor in distress. It actually has worked out that
way. Except for one thing. Computers. We need them to automate things,
and for information storage and management. Rod has built some already,
and combined them with our crystal technology. He's going to build
more, after more experiments with what we already have. Then we are
going to build book viewing computers, so all our students can have
them for classes.
Things are looking very interesting. What a future we are going to
have!
