The Adventures of Stevie #162
These stories were told to me by friends and other people. Some of them
are true. Some of them are only partly true. Some of them should have
been true. LOL
My first post about Stevie ("Call me Stephen!") was when he was 12 and
in summer camp and was told by another camper. This was from a time
before computers would fit on a desk and when people communicated with
friends in other countries by actual letters sent through the postal
service. When children did this those friends were called "penpals".
Carlos is Stevie's penpal in Argentina and knows English. This is a
fictional contrivance to enable Stevie to tell us his stories because
he isn't here in person. I think.
All characters are fictitious, even if some of them might have names
that belong to some actual people, or act like people we know.
Stevie's school is for gifted children who don't fit in regular schools.
The stories may not be posted in chronological order.
Stevie is 14 in this story, in year 4 of his special school, after the
school Spring break.
The Adventures of Stevie #162 "Black and Blue"
Dear Carlos,
Before Pete and I left school early on friday, I said to him, in my
private room, "We have a whole weekend. Dan might be there, and maybe
with his boyfriend. He is gay. Do you have a problem with that?" He
Naturally he does more with boys than a straight boy will, and VERY
well. The link with him is something else! Oh, I notice your interest.
Fine." We grinned. I said "Some more things. I have 2 foster sisters
who might be there, Marsha and Brandy. We don't cross-pollinate at
home. Get what I mean? Teasing is fine, but no screwing is allowed." He
looked interested, but said, "Right. Got it." I said "Jealousy. We
don't have that. No exclusivity. No possessiveness. With our boy play,
we find the more the merrier. Specially when linking. Then there is
sleeping. We have 2 beds in the bedroom, and a sofa in the living room
if you want that. Usually, we share beds. When there are 3 good
friends, or more, sometimes we put the 2 beds together to make a big
one for all. If that isn't enough, we put blankets on the floor and we
all snuggle together. All my friends know I don't like to sleep alone,
and help make sure that doesn't happen too often. Where and how you
sleep is your choice. You just needed to know the options. Ready to
go?" He said "Let's!"
He looked a little confused while we were walking out of the school
building, so I explained about my seasickness. He said "That's a crying
shame. The best porter can't do it, except with special hard to make
medicine. Frustrating! I feel bad for you. Really I do." I hugged him.
He almost kissed me then, when we were outside. He stopped in time, and
we grinned. I said "I'm amazed how comfortable you are with that, being
so new to affection between boys." He said "Me too! It feels strangely
liberating. Joyous, actually. I really like being able to express my
feelings I never never let me feel before, without having to worry how
it would look." I said "I'm happy for you. VERY." He said "That's one
of the reasons why I love you. Because you care so much for people. You
love." We got on the bus and I poked him and said, "Love doesn't need a
reason."
I said "Hi, l professor. Meet Pete, a long time fellow classmate, and
my new brotherly friend." Pete said "Hi professor." The professor said
"I'm pleased to meet you." I said to Pete, "Chad and I whipsawed him to
distraction, last time. It's alright, he can take it. He's smart, and
understands something of who we are." Professor looked pleased, and
said, "Smart? Coming from you, that's quite a complement." Pete said
"Yes, it is. Our school is so individualized, we weren't really
acquainted until a short while ago. We've been friends for a little
over a week, and it's been a BIG eye opener." Professor said "I'm not
pick up fast. It's a pleasure to talk with you." Professor got pink
with embarrassment. I grinned ear to ear. I whispered to Pete loudly
enough for the professor to hear, "He hugs pretty well, too." Pete said
to the professor, "That must have been quite an experience for you."
Professor said "So you know. It was, most definitely! I'm sorry, but I
must get off at the next stop." I said "Not without our goodbyes." Pete
went over to hug him, and then I did. The professor was very happy when
he left. Pete looked at me with respect and love, and pride too. I had
to poke him again. He poked me back, and we tickled each other on and
off the rest of the trip. A lot of the regular passengers were smiling
at us. I smiled back at them, and waved goodbye, as we got off the bus.
Pete said "You're very good with people! I haven't seen this part of
you before." I said "Yes you have, with YOU. You are pretty good
yourself. I like that." We grinned at each other. Then I felt it. I
signaled DANGER, and PREPARE FOR ACTION. There was no visible change in
us an outsider would notice, but we changed a lot inside. He had
trouble identifying the source, so I signaled the directions to the
black car and the black panel truck. He signaled he saw them. We went
inside and I said, "They are observing us closely, but can't hear us.
If they enter, I'll warn you before that. Hide in that room, then, my
bedroom, until I call you out. You are backup, and I don't want them to
know that until you are needed." He nodded. Nobody else was home but
Glena. I said to her, "Emergency. Please get dressed and stay in your
bedroom until I give the all clear." She went. I could feel men
approaching, with unfriendly intent. I said "Action!" Pete went to the
bedroom. 5 men forced themselves into our house. The one in front,
obviously the leader said, "Where is Stephen?" I said "I am Stephen.
What do you want?"
They were dressed in black business suits, and had military issue
very polished black shoes. They had concealed 38 revolvers in shoulder
holsters. I suspected who they were. The so called, "Men in Black," who
hush up UFO reports. The leader said "You are coming with us." I said
"No." That made him a little confused. Military type for sure. I said
"You have broken into private property, and have brought firearms into
my home. That is not allowed. Get out." He said again, "You are coming
with us." I said "Are you with the military? I see you are. Army? Air
force? BlueBook? I thought so." I contacted father and sent him the
info. I said +Listen while I get some more info.+ I said in a big
command voice to the leader, "REPORT! Name, rank, and serial number!"
He couldn't help himself, and said all that. Saluted too, which really
surprised him. I sent that info to father, and said to him, +Follow his
chain of command down from the top and bottom.+ I said to the leader,
"Attention! Who is your CO?" He gave me that, too. I said "Who is HIS
CO? Where is he stationed?" He said those things too. I knew that was
all I was going to get from him, because his resistance was getting
stronger with his anger. I sent father the info. +Should I ask the
Director for G-Men?+ He said +I already did. They should be on their
way. Stall.+ I said +Will do. Stay in contact?+ He said +Distracting.
Not necessary continuous. Send when you have more.+ I said +Roger.
Discom.+ and cut the connection.
I said to the Captain, "Why do you want me?" He said "I have orders
to take you, and that's all I know." I said "To where?" He said "That's
classified." I said "Tell me, if you had a little brother like me,
would you advise him to go with strange people who have guns, and won't
say why and where? Would you?" I could see that made him conflicted. I
pushed with some more. "Your CO must really have something on you, to
get you to violate the Constitution you swore to uphold. You have
trespassed on posted private property, and broken into and entered a
private home, with the intent to capture and kidnap a civilian child.
This makes you a criminal under local law, many times over. Your CO,
too. A crime under Federal law, too, because I work in Federal law
enforcement. There could be something about Treason here, too." He was
really sweating then.
I took my bureau ID out, and clipped it to my shirt, and told him
what it was. I said "I work there. They have been notified, and G-Men
are on the way. Whatever happens, you and your men are going to jail."
He started to reach for his gun. Instead, I took it out of his holster,
first, and held it behind me. I said "Pete, take this and cover them."
He came out and did that, and then I went into high speed and took the
guns from the other men. 4 of them, and put them on the couch. I told
the Captain, "We now add assault to the list. Any more threatening
moves, and Pete will drill you. He is an expert marksmen. Pete, 10
bucks says you can't get them all in less than 3 seconds, between the
eyes." He said "Shucks, an easy bet. I'll take it." I said "All except
the Captain. If he wants to fight me, I want to see what he can do,
before I flatten him. My knuckles are itching."
I told the Captain, "While we're waiting, I should tell you my father
is a war hero, who turned down the job of Secretary of the Air Force,
and recommended the current one for the job. I've already told him
what's happening. You can guess what he's doing about it." I took the
pack of contact cards I cary with me by habit, and held it in my hand
near my mouth like it was a walky-talky, and contacted father and said,
+Ready for update?+ He said +Go ahead.+ I said out loud and silently to
father, "The captain tried to draw. I took it away. Then I took the
other guns. Pete from the school has them covered with one of them.
There are 2 armed men still outside in a black panel truck, who don't
know what's happened here, but they might get curious. G-Men haven't
arrived yet. I suppose they were told what to expect. I want to talk to
the man who wants me. Find him. If you don't or can't, I will crawl up
the chain of command myself, and face him in person. I don't think you
want that, or the bodies I might leave behind. They brought guns into
my home. My family was threatened. I'm going to do something about it,
and nobody is going to stop me. I suggest you do all you can, while
there is time." I said silently. +That was out loud so they could hear
it, speaking into a pack of cards like it was a walky-talky. I did mean
it, though, but with more respect.+ He said +I'm with you all the way
on this one. We are close to the target, from both ends. Do you think
they want you to look at a flying saucer?+ I said +Probably, but I'm
not going to. Tell you later, why. Anything else?" He said +No, I'll
call you there if there is news.+ I said out loud, "Discom."
I said to Pete, "My father is close to finding the man, from both
ends of the chain. He feels the same way as I do, but more. I need to
get to that man first, before father kills him." I signaled it was
truth to him. He said "Can we start now?" I said, "Not if they don't
start anything. They don't know what's involved, and are just following
orders. Unlawful orders, which they should have realized. I guess they
got away with it before, too much, and so didn't expect to suffer the
consequences. Do you think anybody would do this, if they knew how
we've been trained? Suicide! Look at them. They don't have a clue how
to fight. Even the weakest of us could take them down without a
problem, with a hand and foot tied behind his or her back." Pete played
along with, "Yeah. I'd like to see that with the foot. Too bad Jan
isn't here." I said "That would be a mess. She's beautiful, but a
vicious fighter. Need a steel jock to train with her." He said "That
must be hard for you." I said "Right you are, in more ways than one. No
room for expansion."
I noticed one of the men appreciated our little byplay. I felt he was
on our side. He was older than the rest, so I figured he was the
ranking noncom. Just then I heard the G-Men arrive, and announce with
their bull horn, "We are Federal Agents. You are under arrest. Put down
your guns and surrender." I pointed at the older man and said "NCOIC?
Please go out there and tell your men to comply, if you want them to
live." He went, without even looking at the Captain for orders. A
minute later, the Agent in charge came in and said, "Hi, Stephen. Got
it under control, I see." I said hi back, and introduced him to Pete,
while his men were handcuffing the Men in Black. The captain was
looking more than a little sick. He must have realized it was really
all true, and he was in BIG trouble. I told him as he was leaving. "You
knew the orders were unlawful. You shouldn't have obeyed them." He
couldn't look me in the eye.
I'll tell you what happened next, in a different letter.
Your friend,
Stephen
