Hey Grant!
Impeccable timing! I'm meeting them at the airport Saturday morning.
Did I tell you they're back together? Well, they are. We're going to
go visit Danel. Don't be surprised to hear from them next week if we
have the time.
Have a happy Easter Holiday/Passover next week!
Love,
Doc

>Carlos is Stevie's penpal in Argentina and knows English. This is a

>never like this. These are going to be very special, and just for you."
>They were very interested. So was Chad. I cut a shallow outline of the
>metal ovals in a wooden board, and cut out a little of the wood inside
>the outline, so I could rest an oval in the board so it wouldn't move
>while I used a sharp hardened metal scribe to scratch a portrait in it.

>
> They thanked me a lot, with hugs and kisses, and monster grabs. Then
>Bone asked me, "You said other people made bad things happen with them?
>Like what?" I said "Not with them, but with things like them, and I
>don't want to think about that." I started crying, remembering how bad
>it was for Tomba. Chad got angry, and said, "You know how brave and
>strong he is. Look at him. You do NOT want to have the memories he
>has." Mac poked Bone pretty hard. They both apologized to me very much.
>They all held me, and gave me love. I whispered, "Rod's father almost
>died from being attacked by somebody who could do some of the things I
>can do. Some people were made to do bad things they didn't want to do.
>Some people were held captive and tortured. Some people were murdered."

>want to. It's not the kind of man he is. You should know that. He
>almost died fighting that man who attacked Rod's father, and will face
>death as often as he has to, to fight and defeat people like that.
>THAT'S the kind of man Stephen is, and don't you ever forget it." Mac
>pleaded with Chad, "I didn't mean it that way, honest!" Chad said "I'm
>sorry I got a little rough. He's been through a lot. Don't make him sad
>he helped you. I hate for him to be sad." Mac said "I understand. I
>don't want him to be said, either. EVER." We all hugged and kissed each
>other, for a long while.
>
> I said "Lets go outside and play with the dogs." They knew why, and
>thought it was a great idea. Who can be sad while playing with dogs? We
>went to the usual area where I played with the dogs, and they crowded
>around me. I said "Hi my 4 footed friends. Would you like to to have
>some fun?" They all got very excited, and more dogs came running when
>they heard that. We did the same things as the other shows. They knew
>what to do, and didn't have to be told. This time, instead of regular
>obstacles, I used Mac and Bone in place of some of them. They jumped
>over Mac, and leaped through Bone's arms. Then other campers came and
>wanted to be obstacles too, so I put them in the game. Everybody had a
>lot of fun. When it was over, the audience came and petted the dogs,
>and told them how good they were. It was going to be the last show I
>would direct as a camper, but they didn't know it.
>
> After the dog show, Debbie and Wanda hugged and kissed me, right in
>front of everybody. I got red with embarrassment. Chad grinned his face
>almost in half. Rod, trying to be the serious CIT, said, "Stephen! Two
>girls at once? And in public? What will they think!" I said, "Ladies,
>please excuse me for a minute." I bowed to them, and then ran at Rod
>with my hands out, looking like I was going to claw him to pieces. He
>screeched and turned to run, but tripped over a dog. He got up in time
>to escape me, and then I had to jump over some dogs who were in the
>way. I finally caught up with him, and tackled him. We rolled around on
>the grass, wrestling and tickling each other. Some campers laughed.
>Some cheered. Some dogs tried to lick our faces. Then Tommy said,
>"Alright, break it up. Unless you want to wrestle with ME!" Rod and I
>stood up, and I said, "Oh, can we?" And I hugged him, and so did Rod.
>We went to lunch that way.
