as i sit here pondering the fate of all those Japanese people and the
Libyan people we are now bombing, I have an even heavier heart
realizing that I just don't think I can get a passport in time to go
to see Libera in Canada. As much as the damn things cost, they ought
to come quicker than 4 to 6 weeks. I mean, really, you can have your
driver's license in about 15 minutes!
not to mention the fact that the guy hasn't gotten back to me about
the money I am supposed to get from my dearly departed friend. i was
really looking forward to seeing the boys again -- maybe several times
since their shows are all pretty close to Toronto. I was going to take
the 700 mile trip, stay in an inexpensive motel somewhere in the
Toronto area and see them as many times as I could before I had to
start the 700 mile journey home. this was going to be such a good
thing for my depression -- i just know that I would have come back
feeling at peace and lighter. Hell, last time, I was high as a kite on
a natural boy high after the concert and the time i spent around the
boys afterwards!
But instead, I'm left with horrible mood swings to contemplate the
loss of life in Japan due to the quake and the tsunami that followed
while their nuclear reactors slowly turn to death rays. And then we
decide to bomb Libya because the government has apparently declared
war on some of their own citizens. and the fact that i'm not going to
get to see Libera and Kavanna again, prolly for at least another year.
Aw well, at least I am (mostly) back on my feet again. I mean, if
nothing else, the pain has really gone down, though I'm still having
some problems with stiffness and with going up and down stairs. I
tried to take the basement stairs up tonight and found I had to slow
my but down and step up on a step, then bring my other foot to it and
slowly make my way up 1 step at a time instead of hitting a new step
with each step of each foot!
I hope that others will be able to go. Seriously, if you haven't seen
them live -- you need to! It's awesome. And the boys are so down to
earth and humble and gracious. Good boys.
