Easter Island lies in the southeastern Pacific. It is one of the
remotest places on earth. The island is a special territory of Chile,
which annexed it in 1888. On the island are large stone statues
erected between 1100 CE and 1680 CE. An added attraction is the large
number of naked European boys.
