The Adventures of Stevie #99
These stories were told to me by friends and other people. Some of them
are true. Some of them are only partly true. Some of them should have
been true. LOL
My first post about Stevie ("Call me Stephen!") was when he was 12 and
in summer camp and was told by another camper. This was from a time
before computers would fit on a desk and when people communicated with
friends in other countries by actual letters sent through the postal
service. When children did this those friends were called "penpals".
Carlos is Stevie's penpal in Argentina and knows English. This is a
fictional contrivance to enable Stevie to tell us his stories because
he isn't here in person. I think.
All characters are fictitious, even if some of them might have names
that belong to some actual people, or act like people we know.
Stevie's school is for gifted children who don't fit in regular schools.
The stories may not be posted in chronological order.
Stevie is 12 in this story, in year 3 of his special school, after the
winter holiday break.
The Adventures of Stevie #99 "Air Shan"
Dear Carlos,
It's 3/4 the way through the month I'm supposed to be resting, and
I'm all better and as fit as I ever was, and probably better than that,
and was a week ago, but I'm still stuck at home. It's boring, but you
know I wouldn't let that stop me from changing that. Shan visited last
week. That was unusual because I didn't ask him. He's an important man,
and I'm not. It was funny a little. Glena was embarrassed to see a
naked Abbot. That's right. We are nudists, and he respected that. He
doesn't care. It's not the outside of people which he's interested in.
I wouldn't be myself, except I'm an artist.
Shan was all excited when he came to visit. He was like a little kid.
I couldn't help smiling. He wanted to show me something. We sat in
lotus across from each other, and floated up in the air together, about
a foot, for much more than his previous 10 second limit. He drifted,
and I explained to him about Coriolis force, because of the earth's
rotation. He corrected it. I called Glena into the bedroom to see us.
Ohboy was SHE surprised! I said "I asked you to come see us, to tell us
what you see. So, what do you see?" She said "I see 2 people, a big one
and a little one, sitting like Buddha and floating in the air." I said
"Is that all? Are there any visual distortions around us? Any
shimmering or lights?" She said "Nothing like that. Just too people
looking absolutely silly." Shan and I laughed. She said "Abbot, what
have you gotten Stephen into! Isn't that dangerous?" I signaled we
should go down. We did.
Shan told Glena, "Madam, you have that reversed. Stephen taught ME
how to do this." Glena said "Oh! I'm sorry." Shan said "Think nothing
of it. He told me how his floating plastic platform works, but it took
me all this time to finally understand it enough to successfully do it
myself. Stephen could do it as soon as I said he should be able to,
when he first showed me his device in operation. I could only levitate
for about 10 seconds, which is something like a record among those of
us who have the ability. Stephen did something absolutely new. He
combined modern physics with ancient crystal science, and reinvented
the magic carpet, but in an entirely new way. Instead of opposing
gravity, his device bends it away. Now that I know how, I can do it by
manipulating my own energy, just like Stephen can do. I can now stay up
as long as I want, without getting tired. I just had to come and show
him. Absolute genius!" Glena grinned, and said "Well yes, he is." They
both laughed.
Shan said "There is more to this. I didn't understand anything about
physics, yet Stephen explained it well enough to teach me his method. I
think that took more of his ability and effort, than inventing it. I'm
very impressed by by that." I was getting red with embarrassment. Shan
hugged me and said to Glena, "I think I'm embarrassing him. He should
consider, we can't avoid the truth." I growled, and they both laughed.
I said "This is pretty much impractical. There are better ways of doing
the same thing, like a ladder, and driving and such, but it's a fun
thing to experiment with, and for learning how to do new things." Shan
stayed for supper, and then left.
The next day Stuart called before Dan got home from school. His
parents talked to Zach. Then Bill's parents called. The result of all
that is they both are staying over the next weekend. I was the one who
got to tell Dan. I did it in our bedroom, because I expected some
excitement. I wasn't disappointed. I never saw a boner happen so fast.
Like it was spring loaded. He hugged me so hard and fast, he almost
rammed that thing right through me. Then he backed off and looked very
sorry, asked if he hurt me. I said he didn't, and that I was in perfect
health earlier than expected. Then he hugged me hard again, and made a
lot of happy noises. I was grinning happiness for him, at him.
Then I said "Unless you want to save that for him, I think it needs
to be tamed a little, or you're going to have a problem getting dressed
for school tomorrow." That got through to him. We did take care of it,
VERY well. Again and again. And again. We were 2 very tired boys by the
time we finished, but I wouldn't have changed anything. Except the
sheets after it. We did. We slept very well that night, in loving
embrace.
Your friend,
Stephen
