Sorry I've been away for so long. First it was the illness, then I was getting ready for the Libera concert, then I adopted a puppy, and then my best friend is diagnosed with cancer and subsequently died about 3 weeks later. I have to admit, it was not fun taking my little Whodat to West Virginia so that I could spend as much time with Leslie.
I mean, she had some rough days after they did the tests that confirmed the diagnosis, but she was doing so much better the next week when I went home to handle a few first of the month chores -- and then Friday her boyfriend calls me telling me that she's nearly comatose .... And then we lost her on Sunday.
The most interesting thing was that she had just had a few good hours visit from an old college friend who had arranged to get there from Pittsburgh (she couldn't drive because she had just had rotator cuff surgery). I mean, Peg couldn't have been gone 15 minutes when she left us. And yes, we had been telling her that Peg was coming even though she didn't really respond to us that often. Yeah, I think she knew who was there with her most of the time, but then she would sink into her coma or whatever it was.
I am, naturally, a bit depressed. I keep having my -- boy, I should tell Leslie -- moments. And I've been fighting off an upper respiratory infection.
These posts may be sporadic until I'm really back on my feet again, assuming that I ever do really get back on my feet!
