You may want to dismiss the situation in Africa as a "red herring", but I
doubt that the many millions of Africans infected with HIV would agree with
you. ISTM that it's those like you who want to categorise AIDS as a "gay
plague" that are trying to suppress the truth. Apart from anything else this
version creates an attitude of complacency amongst the heterosexual
community, and I note that, according to the statistics that you yourself
posted, even in the US a third of AIDS sufferers are *not* gay.
