@ cosmos... Why no! Life really does have caring and loving! I think you
have done some of it yourself, cosmos, so you contradict yourself! If
you were to judge only by some parts of life, or some people, then yes,
the view is not pretty. As for toys, they are by definition not the real
thing. So throwing them away might be very useful. However, they are
nice to play with, and if you yourself couldn't play with them I'm
certain you wouldn't passively say to yourself "Too bad"! Your
collection of toys proves that you need them, and so you would be mighty
upset if you were denied them, and more of them! You might recall that
my nik unpacks to MagnificentObsession. Can you relate to that as well?
@ Mover... There is a common and wise saying, that charity begins at
home. Unfortunately our mutual friend, the topic of this discussion, and
there are others here like him, does not subscribe to it. The idea of
"boy" and "child", is for some, even most, people a superstition, like a
religious icon, and it relates more to their egos than to the real
object, a real boy. The "boys" in these groups are our delusions, or to
use cosmos' word our "toys". Delusional as toys. Artificial things.
Superstitions. Icons. Homeless veterans are a real class of thing,
distinct enough from the rest of us to attract a special response from
us. Boylovers are also a real class of thing, different enough from the
rest of society to warrant special treatment, as is all too painfully
our experience. But boys are defined by age only, and even that is not
fixed. There is nothing special about age. Doc can begin caring and
loving boys by caring and loving boylovers. As I said, charity begins at
home.
