>It's been a few years since we had the last Pern film rumour.
The rights have gone to the fourth or fifth production company I've
know about since I started tracking these rumors in 1994. The closest
things have gotten was the 2001 WB Network TV series which made it as
far as pre-produciton on the pilot episode before the project fell apart.
Most recently (May '06), a canadian company picked up the rights. After
over a decade of seeing these projects rise and fall, the general
attitude is along the lines of: "Yeah, right. Tell us when you have
a script and start casting."
>Perhaps they can get Peter Jackson to do it, he did a good job with Lord

I seem to recall a rumor along those lines I posted a few years back.
I think it was a Lucas/Jackson collaboration.
