Weyrleaders definitely rank with Lords Holder, and Craftmasters. Wing leaders,
who are usually Bronze Riders, rank with minor lords holders and
mastercraftsmen. Few bronze riders who are not wingleaders are characters in
the books, at any rate when they have achieved maturiy. The only one who comes
to my mind is T'lion, who impressed very young.
If you read the books in the chronological order of their writing, the society
changes its rules. Weyrleaders and Mastercraftsmen come and go from the
Council. Even if you read them in the order of Pern chronology, there are
inconsistencies.
I have a semi-eidetic memory, and I remember these things. But, when I am
reading any particular novel, they are of minor importance. Each and every one
is a good story, in its own right. I register the inconsistencies, yes.
