While you have valid points, I disagree. I think that DragonsKin was a good
first attempt for Todd, and he wrote with WITH his mother. DragonsBlood is
his first solo Pern attempt, which might explain why it felt stretched at
points.
If you get a chance, pick up DragonsBlood from a library so you're not out
any cash. Give it a chance, and the portion you read in DragonsKin is
towards the middle of the book, not the first chapter.
I would go into more detail about the story and what I feel are its
redeaming qualities, but I don't want to ruin the book for anyone who
wants to read it.
