Hi Qwerk!
I'd always just ignored it til now, but you're right. It's a real
site. It's all in Chinese or something, but it "appears" to be a
download site, and from what little I can recognise, it looks to offer
a variety of software. Anything beyond that is pure guesswork.
However... The poster in question is Jetto, a minor Usenet
pain-in-the-butt who's been around for quite a while, shows up in
*most* of the regular groups, and uses a crummy server. It's not
uncommon to see him asking for reposts all over the place, and then
reposts of the reposts. I *think* a bunch of us bombarded him enough,
not long ago, that he finally learned how to use par files, which has
slowed his requests down, at least a little.
That ttdown link has *always* been in his posting headers, and as just
a best guess, I think it's meaningless. I even wonder if he knows that
it's there.
Maybe we should ask him... hehe...
Meanwhile, my best advice is don't worry about it. If Jetto can't
manage to download and join a vid without constant coaching and help,
I doubt that he's running a website... ;oP
Once again, THANKS for Adrian. What you're posting is a true Usenet
classic, the never-seen *real* version of tiny clips we've seen
floating around for years. I know I'm just one of many who are
appreciating it.
