I think that if you were to repost Doc's explanation along with an
explanation of what "posting priviledges" means (that your usenet provider
bans you from posting after someone complains to them with proof of their
complaints) that people in general would have to admit that you have a
legitimate reason to post the way you do. Any other half-assed explanation
such as "It's for protection." or "I am the poster, bow before me and grovel
and NEVER question me or I will NEVER post again....EVER!" will simply not
communicate the truth of the matter and will only sour people (especially
newbies) on the whole experience. After all, we are a small but reclusive
population. Why should we allow misunderstandings between us to ruin our
chances of cordial, friendly interaction?
What any of us may have thought to be ego tripping before about you, Jimmy,
has been suscinctly spelled out for anyone to see. You are trying to keep
yourself "up and running" with these methods and your sensitivity is a
result of your vigilence.
Trust in the truth as the means to blow away lies and miscommunication.
