Hi,
I read your comment about a certain post with a very damaging title for this group.
Beside all the wise things you said, I was surprised to see you hanging in this group and I started wondering about one thing...
I am not capable of following all the conversations that you have had in the Fort (I "kill filtered" a certain number of people over there for my own sanity), but I have seen repeated request to get a so-called "list" of groups from a number of afficionados.
I am now wondering if you have:
1- effectively sent any list to these requesters...
2- in the case you did, if this group and another that you most certainly know about was included in that possible "list"...
I so, would you be kind enough to refrain from including them in it in the future?
I believe that you should instead direct those requester to very simple tools such as Google Group. They already have made "links" between existing groups because of the very harmful habit (for security and peace of mind) that some people had to crosspost to many different groups at the same time. That without saying these persons didn't had the habit of checking the "X-No-Archive" button on their Newsreader before posting their bowels and feelings on Usenet, habit that is preventing Google and it's predecessors to put all these text into Archive as it is cleverly mentioned when you check that button.
As it was said before me by I-don't-remember-who, it is better to teach someone how to catch fishes instead of giving a fish to that person.
