I had the opportunity to (finally) try some of the non-diet
Cherry Vanilla Dr Pepper (in a 12-oz. can). By comparison
with the diet, the sweetness lasted a bit longer (which is
typical), and was in fact a bit "syrupy" compared to most
non-diet sodas. That was all to the good, to my mind :-).
It has a strong cherry flavor, and just enough classic
Dr Pepper flavor underneath to be recognizable. It's better
than some of the Dr Pepper I buy, but not really in the league of
the cane-sugar variety from Dublin, TX (for instance).
I think this is what Red Fusion should have been. If
offered a choice, I'll always choose this over R.F. -- Is
that even available anymore?
